For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Democrats want to nationalize oil refineries:

House Democrats responded to President's Bush's call for Congress to lift the moratorium on offshore drilling. This was at an on-camera press conference fed back live. Among other things, the Democrats called for the government to own refineries so it could better control the flow of the oil supply.

Is this what will happen next year if Obama is elected and the Democrats retain control of Congress? What will this do to oil and gas prices in the future? Would this be the beginning of the socialism most on the left really want, and therefore the beginning of the end of capitalism in this nation?

From an economic perspective, wouldn't such a move force most American companies to begin relocating their headquarters and manufacturing facilities elsewhere to prevent government takeover in the future?
