Deutsch Goes Gaga Over Obama Announcement: 'I Have Never Seen A More Commanding Commander-in-Chief'

Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.  FDR's "we have nothing to fear but fear itself."  Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall."  Meh.  Not bad, but nothing compared with Barack Obama's announcement last night of the killing of Osama Bin Laden . . . at least, apparently, in the eyes of Donny Deutsch.

Appearing on Morning Joe today, Deutsch said of President Obama's remarks "I have never seen a more commanding Commander-in-Chief."

Now I suppose Deutsch could defend himself on Lincoln and FDR by saying he wasn't around then to see them speak.  But presumably Donny was sentient in 1987 when Reagan told Gorbachev what to do with his wall.  And surely Deutsch was around in 2001 when George W. Bush made his impromptu bullhorn speech [see below] at Ground Zero itself. Donny, remember?: "I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people -- and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!"  Talk about commanding.

Watch Deutsch start carving Obama into Mt. Rushmore.

DONNY DEUTSCH: The one thing that people have knocked [President Obama] on is, for the lack of a better word, testosterone.  Boy! I have never seen a more commanding Commander-in-Chief than that guy who walked out at around 11:30 last night.  Now obviously, the message spoke for itself. But beyond that, the gravitas, the man in control, I think will live with him forever.  That was his defining moment: no question about it.
