Sam Bee Admits She ‘Didn’t Learn Much’ After Vile Attack on Ivanka Trump

December 17th, 2019 11:50 AM

Appearing on NBC’s 3rd Hour Today show on Tuesday, nasty left-wing comedian Samantha Bee claimed that she was “looking forward” to covering the 2020 presidential campaign with “joy” on her TBS show. The Full Frontal host also admitted that she “didn’t learn much” from the intense backlash she received in 2018 after launching a vile attack against first daughter Ivanka Trump.

At one point in the friendly interview, co-host Craig Melvin vaguely alluded to Bee calling President Trump’s daughter a “feckless c**t” in May of 2018: “Let’s talk about, while we have you here, last year you caught some flak, a fair amount of flak for those comments about Ivanka Trump. What did you learn from that?”

Bee flippantly responded: “I didn’t learn much.” That prompted uproarious laughter from both Melvin and fellow co-host Al Roker. Bee continued: “Let’s not get crazy. I still have a show to do, I still have a comedy show to do. Yeah, no, I didn’t learn all that much from that.”

After more laughter, Bee proclaimed: “You know what, I learned I can really take it.” Roker excitedly cheered: “Yeah!” Melvin agreed: “Yeah, that’s true.” She added: “I learned that I can walk through fire and emerge on the other side alive.” Roker happily concluded: “And you’re still here.”

At the top of the segment, Roker gushed over Bee being “very funny” and providing “a really interesting take on the news.” After noting that her leftist anti-Trump program was “just picked up for season five,” Melvin wondered if Bee was “looking forward” to “the chaos that will be the 2020 election.” Bee replied: “Well, I am looking forward to that, actually.”

She bemoaned the “unlimited clown car” of the 2016 race and then proclaimed: “...you know, we’re many years into this administration, the tone is really different, so I think that it behooves all of us to bring some joy to it, so that’s what I’m going to try to do.”

Moments later, Bee told the NBC hosts: “So like we are in it together, do you know what I mean?...We are all in the same boat.” They both agreed, but Melvin noted: “Although there’s certain days where I wish that I could cover it the way that you get to cover it.” Bee was thrilled to hear that: “Let me take you on a journey of joy. Take my hand and I will take you with me, and we will go to walk together joyfully into 2020. Pray for us.”

So does that mean Melvin wishes he hosted a show where all he does is hurl disgusting insults at Republicans and conservatives?

Wrapping up the softball exchange, Melvin implored: “We’ve so enjoyed this. Come back.” Roker chimed in with a proposal: “We can do a home in home, we’ll come on your show, you come on ours.” Bee was eager for them to be on her left-wing show: “Oh my God! Yes!”

It’s amazing to see how a network like NBC is perfectly happy to promote and legitimize a hateful, far-left activist like Bee, no matter how offensive she becomes.

Here is a transcript of the December 17 interview:

9:32 AM ET

AL ROKER: Well, this morning, we are catching up with the very funny Samantha Bee, as host of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee on TBS, she uses that humor to take – with a really interesting take on the news.

MELVIN: Covering the chaos ahead, the chaos that will be the 2020 election, are we looking forward to that?

SAMANTHA BEE: Well, I am looking forward to that, actually. Does that – I know that makes no sense.

MELVIN: No, it does make sense from your perspective because as a comedian, you’ll have lots of material.

BEE: Yes, I mean, like, it’s very different. We launched the show in 2016, which was a very different feeling election season, it was like kind of an unlimited clown car, I would say.

MELVIN: Yes.

ROKER: Yeah.

BEE: I think I’m being generous. And this time around it’s, you know, we’re many years into this administration, the tone is really different, so I think that it behooves all of us to bring some joy to it, so that’s what I’m going to try to do.

ROKER: So, is there almost too much stuff to cover? I mean –

BEE: Yes.

MELVIN: Drinking from a fire hose.

BEE: Yes, of course it is. But you must feel that too. I mean, anyone who’s on a news-based show feels the same way. So like we are in it together, do you know what I mean?

ROKER: Yeah.

MELVIN: We are.

BEE: We are all in the same boat.

MELVIN: Although there’s certain days where I wish that I could cover it the way that you get to cover it.

BEE: Let me take you on a journey of joy. [Laughter] Take my hand and I will take you with me, and we will go to walk together joyfully into 2020. Pray for us. [Laughter]

MELVIN: Let’s talk about, while we have you here, last year you caught some flak, a fair amount of flak...

BEE: Sure.

MELVIN: ...for those comments about Ivanka Trump. What did you learn from that? I mean, are you not going to push –

BEE: I didn’t learn much. [Laughter] Let’s not get crazy. I still have a show to do, I still have a comedy show to do. Yeah, no, I didn’t learn all that much from that. [Laughter]

MELVIN: So –

BEE: You know what, I learned I can really take it.

ROKER: Yeah!

MELVIN: Yeah, that’s true.

BEE: I learned that I can walk through fire and emerge on the other side alive.

ROKER: And you’re still here.

BEE: Yeah.
