CNN: ‘Feedback Loop’ of Trump and Fox News ‘Mimic’ Russia

In an especially absurd Thursday morning airing of CNN Newsroom, host Jim Sciutto and CNN senior political analyst John Avlon made a couple leaps of logic, as well as an extremely ironic remark, regarding President Trump and Fox News. This came after a fast and furious “fact-checking” series done after the President told a “flurry of lies” about Mueller, Russia, and the USS John McCain on the White House driveway.

John Avlon accused Trump and the opinion hosts of Fox News being a “feedback loop.” The irony in this statement was jaw dropping considering CNN often repeats the talking points of Democrats, has pushed the impeachment narrative relentlessly, and regularly only brings on guests that agree with the leftist viewpoint. Avlon ranted:

And to that point why does he think his supporters are such rubes? Why does he have such contempt for the intelligence and analytical ability for his supporters? The feedback loop you see and hear between him and some of the opinion hosts on Fox News is extraordinary. It's actually unclear who is parroting whose talking points at this point.

The segment only got more ludicrous as Sciutto remarked that “those talking points are mimicked by Russia’s talking points.” It seems that no matter what the liberal media disagree with, the source of the disagreement always leads back to Vladimir Putin and Russia. Now, just for providing the other side of the argument, it seems that Fox is a player in the Russian collusion scandal as well.

The solution to the issue of not having found any sort of collusion has been to continually ramp up the narrative that both Republicans and Fox are acting as autocratic Russian agents who seek to destroy American democracy.

ERROL LOUIS: He's giving some kind of talking points to his die hard supporters who are not really interested in facts, they know they are going to support him, he's just giving them something that is sort of plausible to say.

JOHN AVLON: And why -- and to that point why does he think his supporters are such rubes? Why does he have such contempt for the intelligence and analytical ability for his supporters? The feedback loop you see and hear between him and some of the opinion hosts on Fox News is extraordinary. It's actually unclear who is parroting whose talking points at this point.

JIM SCIUTTO: Well and sometimes those talking points are mimicked by Russia's talking points. I mean, you saw the Kremlin in the wake of Mueller statement repeating phrases that you hear from the White House about, you know, this being about Russiaphobia, you know, the case is closed, et cetera.
