MSNBC Touts Ilhan Omar Labeling Trump ‘Dictator in the Making’

July 2nd, 2019 12:46 PM

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar made an appearance on MSNBC’s All In Monday night to discuss the President’s recent overseas trip to the G-20 summit. Of course, liberal host Chris Hayes, eagerly prompted Omar to explain how meeting with dictators makes Trump himself, a dictator.

Hayes questioned: “You referred to the President in his sort of ardor for strongmen and dictators as a dictator in the making himself. What do you mean by that?”

Omar, who herself has been in the midst of anti-Semitic and marriage scandals, opined: “I mean; he has an affinity that is to dictators. We’ve seen the way that he talks about other democratic leaders around the world. When he talks about Putin, when he talks about Kim, when he talks about MBS, there is a little light in his eyes as if he almost envies and kind of wants to be like them.”

The Congresswoman continued: “That should be very alarming to the people of our country, and I know what a making of a dictator looks like, and I've said that since the day he got sworn in. We should be very worried.”

Omar, who has been accused of marrying her brother to evade immigration laws, along with tax evasion scandals, and has been notoriously anti-Semitic should have other things to worry about, but of course the liberal media could never highlight this for fear of being called Islamophobic. Hayes refused to ask her a single question about any of her scandals.

Here is the transcript from the July 1 episode of All In with Chris Hayes:

CHRIS HAYES: Final question. You referred to the President in his sort of ardor for strongmen and dictators as a dictator in the making himself. What do you mean by that?

ILHAN OMAR I mean; he has an affinity that is to dictators. We've seen in the ways that he gets excited when he talks about dictators. He's very different in the way that he talks about other democratic leaders around the world. When he talks about Putin, when he talks about Kim, when he talks about MBS, there is a little light in his eyes as if he almost envies and kind of wants to be like them. That should be very alarming to the people of our country, and I know what a making of a dictator looks like, and I've said that since the day he got sworn in. We should be very worried.
