Comedian Chuck Nice appeared on the "All Guy Panel" during the fourth hour of Thursday morning's "Today" and blasted men who engage in extramarital affairs.
"I've said this before and I will say it again. And no one wants to accept this as an answer, but here is the reason why men cheat. It is a failure of character. That is it," Nice exclaimed.
"End of story. It's a failure of character," he continued. "A man who has the strong, spiritual conviction to say that although I want to do this, I will rely upon a higher power to make sure and strengthen me so that I am able to stand for my vows is the man who will not cheat. Now, that's the end of it."
Host Kathie Lee Gifford's responded to Nice with a resounding, "Hallelujah."
Nice's comments dovetailed with comments Gifford made earlier in the hour.
Talking just to her co-host Hoda Kotb about temptation, Gifford admitted that the same situation "could have easily, easily happened" to her.
"But the one thing that happens is you say...you think to yourself, oh my god. How stupid is this?" she said. "You're going to ruin everything. Ruin everything. And they've got to listen to that voice and they stop listening."
Gifford also lamented what she sees as a lack of "shame" from anybody involved in the situation, as well as the reluctance of people to call adultery a "sin." She also decried the idea of people playing the victim card.
"I'm kind of tired of that whole victimization thing about our entire culture in general. You know, we have to be accountable as adults."
Kudos to Gifford and to Nice for calling Woods, and the women he cheated with, on their behavior.
