MRC President Brent Bozell Slams ‘Fascist Tactics’ Exposed by MRC Report

MRC President and Founder Brent Bozell highlighted a blistering exposé of the disturbing collusion between the federal government and private organizations to poison the minds of future generations against conservatives.

In a Jan. 18 interview with WMAL radio host Larry O’Connor, Bozell discussed a horrifying report by MRC Legal Associate Tim Kilcullen on this collusion stemming from the Department of Homeland Security’s Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention program. “The things we are uncovering, folks, it is scary, scary stuff,” Bozell said. The federal government is “using fascist tactics against its own people, funded by its own people,” he added.

“You don’t have a democracy when you’ve got the State Department, as we uncovered before, working with Germany to design a program and teach educators how to teach children all about censoring conservatives,” said Bozell before continuing: “You don’t have democracy when you have the Department of Homeland Security giving funds to [University of Dayton]-rewarding it for a program that does things among other things equating the Republican Party, MAGA… The Heritage Foundation and others as the building blocks to militant fascism in America.”

Bozell went on to elaborate that the “Department of Homeland Security is back at it again. This time with a three-phase program,” before spelling out the new revelations in detail.

Specifically, the MRC report, released on Jan. 17, revealed that the DHS awarded $700,000 in grant money to the University of Rhode Island’s Media Education Lab (the “Rhode Island Lab”) to promote leftist propaganda. Using the grant, the university then trained teachers to use censorship tools to silence right-leaning political dissent in their classrooms. In addition, the grant was engineered to pay activists to write blog content promoting left-wing propaganda. It even paid students up to $1,000 to make social media posts promoting so-called “media literacy.”

Bozell slammed those who refer to taxpayer-funded leftist indoctrination as “media literacy,” pointing out that this term serves to equate leftist propaganda with the truth. Bozell added that “Media literacy means-if you challenge climate change, you are illiterate.”

O’Connor was fired up after hearing about this authoritarian and biased abuse of federal tax dollars. “This is what the fascists do,” O’Connor said, before adding: “It’s bad enough that the Biden administration is using federal tax dollars to fund propaganda efforts to defeat their political opponents and prop up their own political ideas—that would be bad enough. But they also go a step further, this is from the Homeland Security Department, so they’re calling their political opponents terrorists, literally because of how they vote.”

O’Connor thanked Bozell and the Media Research Center: “We would not have learned of this had you and your incredible team at Media Research Center not asked the questions, FOIA’ed the documents and put two and two together.”
