The father of a girl who was permanently disabled in a truck driving accident by an illegal alien passionately denounced lawmakers "grandstanding" on their "soapbox" at a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, blaming the Democrats’ sanctuary policies.
Marcus Coleman, the father of seven-year-old Dalilah Coleman, ripped Democrats for enabling illegal aliens to stay in the country and acquire Commercial Drivers’ Licenses – sometimes without even being able to read English – which has led to highway accidents that have killed and permanently disabled Americans.
President Donald Trump introduced “Dalilah’s Law” at his State of the Union address in February. It which would restrict illegal aliens’ eligibility to obtain a CDL. The Indian national who hit Dalilah obtained his license in the sanctuary state of California, which has become notorious for its permissive granting of CDLs. In Florida last year, three innocent people were killed when an illegal-alien truck driver with a California license attempted a U-turn near Fort Pierce.

“I reject your guys’ sympathy, to be honest with you,” Coleman told Democrats as the cameras focused on leftists like Rep. Pramila Japayal of Washington and Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland.
“There’s no way you guys are sorry," he said. "Not one of you guys have ever called me. Not one of you guys have ever reached out to me. Not when you guys have ever sat there and seen me in the hallways and said, ‘Hey, sorry about your daughter. You guys do it right here while you guys are grandstanding on top of your soapbox. This is when you guys care. Right here inside this room is the only time you guys care.”
Coleman said his daughter didn't deserve this fate at the tender age of 5, but illegal immigrants exploited the sanctuary policies to do work they were not qualified to do, like someone showing up at a hospital and pretending to be a doctor. “They knew exactly what they were doing. They still chose to move forward in that direction. And every day something’s happening to somebody, and it is your guys’s fault. I hold each and every one of you responsible for it, and I always will."
