As the accusations against producer Harvey Weinstein grow with every day, it’s telling to see who remains silent.

When the allegations of rape surfaced in the New Yorker on October 10, Weinstein crony Hillary Clinton finally spoke out. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has yet to release statements condemning his long-time ‘pal.’

Bezos, the owner of The Washington Post and the third richest man in the world, has in previous times been a close friend of Harvey Weinstein. According to Variety, the billionaire could often be spotted at Weinstein’s famous pre-Oscar parties. In fact, Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg tweeted a picture of Bezos at a Weinstein party in 2015.

In December 2016, Anna Thompson published a story at IndieWire about a party at Bezos’ Beverly Hills estate. According to her, “Bezos takes seriously his role as owner of The Washington Post, as well as Amazon Studios, which has its sights on Oscars for “Manchester.” Bezos is invested for the long haul and spending to win: He wants to build a brand that means taste and class, he said. He’s been to the Oscars before, and the person he leans on for advice is pal Harvey Weinstein.

In 2011, Bloomberg.com reported on Weinstein and Bezos attending and hanging out at an Allen & Co. Media and Technology Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. The two were photographed together by Peter Foley.

Weinstein’s company was also in talks with Amazon’s Studios to produce two television shows for Amazon Prime. According to Deadline, the shows were not yet funded. In another Deadline story, Amazon revealed that they would re-consider the projects. “We are reviewing our options for the projects we have with the Weinstein Co.,” Craig Berman, VP communications at Amazon Entertainment, said in a statement.

Rose McGowan, who received a settlement from Weinstein according to the New York Times, tweeted at Bezos on October 10, asking him to pull funding from The Weinstein Company.
