Gerri Willis: 'Thank ObamaCare' for 'Soaring' Federal Healthcare Costs

With less than a week left until the January 31 ObamaCare 2016 sign up deadline, costs are climbing and enrollment is down.

“You can thank Obamacare” for the 13 percent increase in federal healthcare costs in 2015, despite lower-than-predicted enrollment, according to Fox Business personal finance reporter, Gerri Willis.

“For the first time in our history, the federal government -- Uncle Sam -- is spending more on medical -- healthcare, medicare, medicaid, Obamacare subsidies last year,” than on social security, Gerri Willis told Cavuto Coast to Coast host, Neil Cavuto on Jan. 26.

“While Obamacare is taking up more and more of our tax dollars, there are fewer and fewer people enrolled than expected.”

Original Congressional Budget Office predictions from 2014 said that there would be 21 million ObamaCare enrollees by the Jan. 31, 2016 deadline, but that estimate has been revised downward to just 13 million.

“Eleven million of those 13 million will be getting subsidies, so we are footing that bill,” Willis explained.
