He was Research Director at the Media Research Center from 2003 to 2021; senior editor of NewsBusters (2005-2021); director of the MRC's Free Market Project (1999 to 2003) and the MRC's Director of Media Analysis (2001 to 2003). From 1987 to 1999, he was Political Studies Director at the Center for Media and Public Affairs in Washington, D.C.
