The most Trump-deranged among the Elitist Media Evening News, ABC, continues to willfully distort its reporting on ICE interactions with protesters and agitators. The latest instance comes via its report on an incident near Sacramento, California.
Watch the brief in its entirety, as aired on ABC World News Tonight on Wednesday, October 21st, 2026:

DAVID MUIR: Tonight, an investigation is underway outside Sacramento after an ICE vehicle appeared to strike a man and drive away. The man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. ICE says he was not hit, claiming he jumped on the vehicle. Earlier, the man was seen on surveillance throwing trash cans in front of an SUV with blinking lights.
The item, buried at the end of B-block, is the evening news manifestation of a vaguepost. Who is the man? Did the vehicle hit him or not? ICE says he was not hit, Muir says he “appeared” to be hit. The man was seen “throwing trash in front of an SUV with blinking lights.” What kind of SUV? What kind of lights? None of this was made clear to viewers, who are supposed to infer from this yet another instance of ICE cruelty and heavy-handedness.
But things may have a bit different from what ABC advertised. Per KCRA-3 Sacramento:
Another angle from a home surveillance camera shows Moreida walking alongside and touching one of the SUVs before it drives out of frame. He then continues walking in the middle of the street, holding a GoPro camera. Moments later, another SUV enters the frame, its engine revving before it swerves and strikes Moreida with its right front side. The vehicle then drives away.
Video shows that the man got in front of the slow-moving vehicle and walked into it:

Between this and the garbage cans in front of the non-specific vehicle, it seems that the man may have been protesting or attempting to disrupt ICE actions. It seems that David Muir left some big chunks of the DHS’s statement out of the brief, as well. Per The Sacramento Bee:
“This is false. ICE did NOT hit a pedestrian. An agitator jumped onto the hood of an ICE vehicle and the officer driving applied the brakes. The agitator slid off the hood,” a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson said regarding the incident in Woodland, about 19 miles northwest of downtown Sacramento.
“Flopping for the camera is dangerous, especially when it interferes with a federal law enforcement operation,” the spokesperson said, using a basketball term to suggest the observer staged the collision. “Anybody who lays a hand on our officers or tries to obstruct them is committing a felony and a federal crime.”
The article goes on to note that the agitator appeared at a City Council meeting in order to criticize the police response to the incident.
ABC butchered all the context out of the story, in order to create another tale of criminal immigration enforcement. Sadly, this is the latest in a long pattern of such stories.
