ABC News continues to consistently be the most Trump-deranged and most committed to airing Resistance™ slop among the three major broadcast network newscasts. Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce’s report on the recent U.S. strikes in Iran leave no remaining doubt.

DAVID MUIR: Tonight, the U.S. launching airstrikes on Iran as the war now enters its seventh month. And Vladimir Putin tonight with a major show of support, meeting with Iran. Here's Mary Bruce.
MARY BRUCE: Tonight, a sharp escalation in the war. The U.S. and Iran trading intense attacks as President Trump issues a familiar threat. If things keep going in this direction, Iran will be, quote, “totally wiped out as a country.” The president had been trying to downplay the scope of the war.
DONALD TRUMP: This is a relatively little war for us. This is not a big war.
BRUCE: But the U.S. now launching a new round of attacks after Iran struck two tankers in the strait of Hormuz. Trump saying the Pentagon is also targeting Iran's radar systems. Iran claims the U.S. is striking civilian areas, including a wedding. The Pentagon responding, “We are aware of the reports. The U.S. The military never targets civilians.” Iran now firing missiles and drones at U.S. allies, including Jordan. Today, in a striking show of support, Russia's Vladimir Putin sitting down with Iran's president. With Putin, pledging, quote, “in this difficult period, we're trying to provide you with the necessary support. We're supplying you with goods that you need.”
And, David, the trump administration is trying to turn up the economic pressure on Iran. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent saying they are going to, quote, “economically asphyxiate Iran and force them to the bargaining table.” But, David, so far, no signs Iran is giving in. David.

The report opens with anchor David Muir highlighting Vladimir Putin’s support of Iran. Muir then kicks to Bruce, who knocks Trump for threatening Iran and for downplaying the war. After echoing Iran claims of a wedding getting hit, Bruce reemphasizes Putin’s support for Iran. But only in ambiguous terms. There was no mention, for example, of the explosive report indicating that Russia shared its supersonic missile technology. Per i24:
Russia has been secretly supporting Iranian missile development since 2023, according to a report in the Financial Times on Tuesday.
The goal of the program, codenamed C430L, was to help Iran develop missiles capable of taking out US Navy aircraft carriers in the Middle East.
In particular, they aimed to develop a ramjet propulsion system that would allow Iranian missiles to fly at several times the speed of sound.
Fast, low-flying missiles would give Western air defences less time to react increasing the impact of such an attack.
The idea is to cast Iran as sympathetic so OF COURSE there is no mention of the Putin collab in hopes of developing a carrier-killer missile. That would be counter-narrative.
The report ends with a mention of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s economic efforts against Iran. Bruce could’ve mentioned the Iranian rial’s position relative to the dollar or shown viral videos of military officers decrying personal hardships.
None of that made it to air. Instead, the report closes out with Bruce sounding like an IRGC public affairs officer, huffily proclaiming that Iran has shown no sign of giving in. In the Trump era, Resistance™ takes on many forms. In this case, it sure sounds a lot like cheerleading for Iran.
