Many historians call the Armenian Holocaust the first holocaust of the 20th Century, a dress rehearsal for the Nazi nightmare that followed. Over the years, the hip music critics have easily mocked the Grammy Awards for rewarding kitschy music. See: Milli Vanilli, Best New Artist. Oops. But that doesn’t mean Kanye West gets to declare himself the new dean of the rock critics like Robert Christgau.
Kanye threatened to storm on stage and take the Album of the Year award away from Beck and give it to Beyonce. Washington Post music critic Chris Richards actually applauded West’s antics on Thursday. His trash talk is apparently a treasure.

While its appearance at the height of the Brian Williams serial tall-tales scandal seems coincidental, a New York Times Sunday review column by Clancy Martin, a "professor of philosophy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City" who has been "married twice before" (!), reveals quite a bit about the kind of dreck the Old Gray Lady will tolerate in the name of advancing its personal values-free, anything-goes take on the world.
Clancy goes through a tired, predictable "everybody lies in their relationships" exercise, apparently unable to distinguish between good manners, motivational statements, and flat-out factual falsehoods. After the jump readers will see a list of statements the author treats as "lies" which definitely are not in many if not most circumstances. I have applied some of them to more generalized or current circumstances.

Fox News contributor Stacey Dash riled up the New York Daily News when the show Outnumbered focused on rapper Kanye West's odd remarks that compared dealing with the paparazzi to rape. (Much like actress Charlize Theron.) Fox’s Sandra Smith asked: “Should we be a little more forgiving of them? Are they saying things in the heat of the moment that they don’t really mean?”
Dash shot back: “I don’t know if they mean it or not, but forKanye to say 'rape,' maybe he needs to spend some time on Rikers Island. Go to Rikers for a little while and then he'll know what rape is." (Video below)

Team Obama is so desperate to change the subject from Obamacare that they sent top presidential aide Valerie Jarrett into “The O’Reilly Factor” to talk up Obama’s sudden distraction -- ahem, lifelong campaign to help young black men in rough neighborhoods.
O’Reilly took the conversation in a direction where no one in the PC media has dared to go: Obama’s failure to call out rappers like Jay-Z for their gangsta glamorization. [See video below. MP3 audio here.] The media has only used the Obamas’ friendship with Jay-Z and Beyonce as a measure of their hipness. O’Reilly pushed back, but Jarrett wouldn’t go there on gangsta rap:

Infamous racist Louis Farrakhan has come to the defense of Kanye West after the dim-witted rapper made a remark that was widely construed as embracing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.
West should feel no need to apologize Farrakhan said in a video statement. “Kanye West, don’t bow to the pressure to bow to apologize to anybody. You said nothing wrong.”
