Where is Willie Geist when we need him?  Thomas Roberts—who has replaced Brian Schachtman as Way Too Early host—is seemingly also taking over much of Geist's turf as Morning Joe sidekick.  

And whereas Geist was, at least in the MSNBC context, a voice of affable equanimity, Roberts is an unabashed liberal advocate.  Witness today's Morning Joe. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski questioned the character of Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer. Joe and Mika wondered how, after assertedly writing in her personal diary that Chris Christie's corrupt nature "literally brings tears to my eyes," Zimmer could then take to Twitter to paradoxically proclaim that she was "very glad" that Christie was governor and that he has "done a great job for NJ & Hoboken."  Rising to the defense of the Dem mayor, Roberts accused Joe and Mika of "eviscerating" Zimmer, whom Roberts described as a "whistle-blower." Ever since Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” gave an interview with GQ Magazine discussing his views on gay marriage, the folks at MSNBC have been on a tirade against the reality TV star with contributors to the “Lean Forward” network going so far as to say Robertson’s comments are “part of majority white supremacist culture.”

MSNBC’s latest attempt to vilify the “Duck Dynasty” family came during a January 3 segment with host Thomas Roberts, where he and guest Ladd Everitt of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence tried to vilify the family for teaming up with Mossberg to design and sell their own line of firearms. After railing against Phil Robertson for his past comments, Roberts then pushed Mr. Everitt to promote his organization’s anti-gun efforts:

So this family earned $200,000 per episode that season and they represent and they speak to a large swath of the country. Primarily the stereotype almost that you just pointed out. But how do you try to combat that?

There are a lot of things that MSNBC claims that the GOP is engaged in a “war” on. Whether it’s a “war on women” or a “war on voting,” the folks at MSNBC can’t seem to go a day without finding something to smear conservatives.

Take Thomas Roberts on December 30, who during his 11:00 a.m. show announced “The biggest blow to voting rights this year was the Supreme Court's decision striking down a key piece of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.” In typical fashion, he brought on two liberal guests to slam the GOP over the MSNBC-labeled “war on voting” -- Ben Jealous, former head of the NAACP, and Mark Morial, the president of the National Urban League. The guests doubled down on the MSNBC line.

Today’s installment of the Media Research Center’s “Best Notable Quotables of 2013,” as selected by our 42 expert judges: the “Let Them Eat Dog Food Award, for Freaking Out Over the Sequester’s Puny Cuts,” and “The Kamikaze Award, for Disparaging Conservatives During the Shutdown.”

In late February, as automatic spending cuts were about to take a tiny sliver off of the $3.5 trillion annual federal budget, reporters mindlessly parroted the Obama administration's doomsaying about the consequences. Then in October, when conservatives attempted to block the implementation of the dysfunctional ObamaCare law, journalists blasted them as lunatic terrorists out to destroy America. It’s becoming clearer every day that the liberal hosts at MSNBC have no interest in giving conservatives a fair shake on their network. Time and time again, MSNBC hosts such as Thomas Roberts proudly slander Republicans of engaging in hateful acts such as a “war on women” or a “war on voting.”

With such hostility towards conservatives at the network, it makes you wonder sometimes why any conservative would want to come on and be verbally accosted by the liberal activists disguised as journalists, such as Thomas Roberts, who did his best to put Orlando Watson through the ringer.
