MSNBC Suggests Connection Between Blizzard and Climate Change on Five Separate Shows

As a blizzard threatened to bury northeastern U.S. cities with snow, MSNBC blanketed its coverage with connections to man-made climate change.

Repeatedly, the cable network which is part of NBC Universal, tried to link the snowstorm with climate change (a phrase often used synonymously with global warming) in at least five of its shows on Jan. 26. While MSNBC hosts and guests said that "scientists think" climate change could be causing more snow, some actual scientists disagreed. But those views were not represented in those MSNBC discussions.

At the same time, NBC congressional reporter Luke Russert mocks conservatives on Twitter: “The Kamikaze Caucus is alive & barking,” while The Daily Beast's Eleanor Clift says in 2015 she'll treat the GOP candidates with respect, “even though I think most of them probably belong in the clown car.”

Let's imagine a white Congressman saying that when he served in Vietnam, he was never moved at the sight of a dead U.S. soldier unless he was white. His career would be over, and deservedly so, within about five minutes of his statement. If he was a conservative or a Republican, even if he resigned instantly and was roundly and unanimously condemned by his colleagues, the press would remind us of that racist statement for years on end.

Now switch races and change the war to Korea. Otherwise, 23-term New York Democratic Congressman Charles Rangel just did the same thing, and you can almost make book that the establishment press will ignore it:

During his MSNBC show on Wednesday night, Ed Schultz and guest Mike Papantonio devoted five minutes to promoting, among other things, their beliefs that Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson “crafted his answers” to the grand jury and in his interview with ABC News “to match the law” and that Fox News, the tea party, and conservatives will soon want their “made-for-TV folk hero” in Wilson to run for Congress and appear on Dancing with the Stars.

Following a series of clips from Wilson’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Schultz welcomed in Papantonio and felt it was crucial to warn viewers that “I’m going to judge here, okay” that Wilson had “got crafted answers to match the law so he could escape justice.”
