PennLive Walks Back No Pro-Traditional Marriage Comments Policy, Plays Victim

On Friday, Curtis Houck at NewsBusters reported that "the Harrisburg, PA newspaper The Patriot News announced that both they and their online site PennLive.com 'will very strictly limit op-Eds and letters to the editor in opposition to same-sex marriage.'"

As of three years ago, the newspaper claimed weekly circulation of 476,000. Its current hype to advertisers boasts of "500,000 unique visitors and 22 million page views each month." Faced with what quickly and obviously became a move with the potential to cause significant losses in readership, the paper abruptly reversed course Saturday morning.

On Sunday’s State of the Union, CNN’s Van Jones accused those who oppose the Supreme Court's decision to ignore the normal legislative process on gay marriage of pushing “the old state’s rights rhetoric that was anti-civil rights rhetoric of the past than embracing the future.” Jones bemoaned that his “heart was broken” after he heard Mike Huckabee’s comments on the Supreme Court ruling especially because he “put more African-Americans in high position in office as governor than Bill Clinton did.”

Stephen Colbert celebrated the Supreme Court decision mandating gay marriage in a YouTube video aimed at his natural audience: secular liberal Democrats. (Forget all that hooey about “devoutly Catholic” Colbert. You can’t be that and be a CBS star....or anywhere else in the media elite.)

"June Is a Lovely Month for a Wedding" was the video's title. “Congratulations, gays!” he declared. “You now have the right to marry in all 50 states. So if you’re a homosexual and living in North Dakota, all your problems are solved!”

ABC Censors Conservatives As It Touts 'Loftiest' Marriage Ruling

On Friday, ABC's World News Tonight aired a completely one-sided report on the Supreme Court's ruling that legalized same-sex "marriage" in all 50 states. Terry Moran hyped how Justice Anthony Kennedy "wrote today's landmark opinion describing the stakes in this case in the loftiest terms." Moran failed to include any soundbites from social conservative opponents of the decision, and hyped how "Justice Scalia, in a rage, scorning Kennedy's poetic opinion as little more than a 'fortune cookie.'"

NPR Airs Completely One-Sided Story on Gay-Left Lobbyists In Poland

The latest in a long line of one-sided stories mocking the title of NPR’s evening newscast – All Things Considered – came in a Thursday night story on gay activism in Poland. “Homophobia” was apparently too ugly to deserve any air time.

NPR reporter Soraya Sarhaddi Nelson was in Poland to promote the “hope and change” on the Left, and only the Left. Activists compared the gay activists to the anti-communist stalwarts of Solidarity:

During CNN's live coverage of the Supreme Court ruling mandating the nationwide legality of same-sex marriage, CNN's senior legal analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, repeatedly made cracks about Antonin Scalia, dubbing the conservative Supreme Court Justice as the "'get off my lawn' justice," and asserting that there was "outward bigotry" in a dissenting opinion Justice Scalia gave back in 2003 on a gay rights-related case.

After the first broadcast network special reports on Friday morning about the Supreme Court’s decision to approve gay marriage, they returned hours later to gush after President Obama’s remarks how “eloquently” he spoke and pronounce him to be “the America of tomorrow” as an “angry” Antonin Scalia comes to grips with the news that “his side” of “the culture battle” “has lost.” ABC News correspondent Terry Moran hyped after the President’s speech how “Scalia is angry again” by having “cast scorn” on the majority ruling in his dissenting opinion. 

CNN's Wolf Blitzer Raves About This ‘Amazing Week Here in the United States’

Following President Obama’s statement on Supreme Court’s ruling Friday morning to legalize gay marriage in all 50 states, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer couldn’t help but marvel at how “years from now, historians will write about this week – amazing week here in the United States” as President Obama saw favorable rulings on ObamaCare and gay marriage in addition to Congress passing “his free trade authority legislation.” As the President left the podium at the White House Rose Garden, Blitzer reminded viewers that Obama was speaking “[f]or the second day in a row” so he could “applaud a major historic United States Supreme Court decision.”

CNN Touts Another Panel of Voters Who Slant Heavily Liberal

A week after CNN's New Day aired a pair of pre-recorded segments focusing on an allegedly balanced group of New Hampshire voters who ended up displaying political views stacked heavily in the liberal direction, this week's batch of voters -- this time from Charleston, South Carolina -- appear even more slanted to the left in spite of suggestions of a balanced sample with equal numbers of Republicans, Democrats and independents.
