Chris Rock Reveals Hilariously Wrong Advice He Gave to Michelle Obama

Sometimes crossed signals can result in communication that go horribly and, in the case of comedian Chris Rock, hilariously wrong. What made the misunderstanding so funny is that it happened at the final White House party hosted by President Barack Obama. And the person with whom the signals were so horribly/hilariously misunderstood was First Lady Michelle Obama.

Chris Rock revealed what happened on the May 2 Tonight Show while recounting the laugh error to host Jimmy Fallon.

You’re sitting around, you’re meeting people, and you mingle. First you mingle. And at one point I’m — it’s me and Michelle Obama, just talking. I’m not really supposed to be alone with Michelle Obama. That's not really my lane. I don't know how to talk politics. Michelle Obama is like, "I don’t know what we’re going to do, the country," and we’re talking about elections and stuff. "I don’t know — I don’t know what’s going to happen. This is such a crazy time." And I go, "you’ll be alright."

And now Chris Rock consoles the First Lady with some career advice:

And then I said, "You know, you get any kind of job you want, I mean — The View, The Housewives of Atlanta...” Michelle Obama looks at me and was like, "I was talking about the country. I wasn’t talking about me."

Ooops!

And then she goes, "Oprah, I’ve got to talk to you!" And she runs — she runs away from me.

Perhaps the good news is that Chris Rock might have gotten her to think about a permanent seat on The View as possibility.
