NAACP Show Blasts Stacey Dash as 'Ann Coulter Dipped In Butterscotch'

February 8th, 2016 12:24 PM

Comedian Anthony Anderson mocked conservative actress Stacey Dash during his opening monologue at Friday's NAACP Image Awards: "What the hell is she doing? Doesn't she know that the Fox network is using her? She's just an Ann Coulter dipped in butterscotch. That's all she is!" Anderson added, "Baby, don't let them use you! Come back to the black people; and get back to work in some of those beautiful 'C' movies that you used to do." [video below]

Dash (who presented the Dan Rather Memorial Award for the Most Stupid Analysis at the MRC's Dishonors Awards in 2014) quickly responded later that evening on Twitter: "Well it's funny how woman who weighs 105 wet.. [c]an get grown ass men to act like...little girls!"

The comedian likely targeted the Fox News contributor after she gave her take on the lack of minority Oscar nominees during a January 2016 appearance on Fox & Friends: "I think it's ludicrous...because we have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don't want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black. If it were the other way round, we would be in up arms. It's a double standard."

Back in May 2015, Anderson's character on the ABC series Black-ish ripped the concept of non-liberal African Americans in general: "There are certain things in life that are just true....fact: black people aren't Republicans. We just aren't. We vote for Democrats. Sure, the other side may trot out a token black face every now and again, but the fact of the matter is, being a black Republican is something we just don't do."

The transcript of the relevant portion of Anthony Anderson's monologue from Friday's NAACP Image Awards, which aired on TV One:

ANTHONY ANDERSON: All right. Let me get this show started. Let me introduce our first presenter. Everybody give a round of applause for Stacey Dash. (audience cheers and applauds) What the hell is she doing? (audience laughs) Doesn't she know that the Fox network is using her? (audience laughs) She's just an Ann Coulter dipped in butterscotch. That's all she is! (audience laughs)

Baby, don't let them use you! Come back to the black people; and get back to work in some of those beautiful 'C' movies that you used to do. (audience laughs) I promise I will see them.
