After Christie said Black Lives Matter should not be “justified” over their anti-police rhetoric, the CBS anchor tried to defend the movement as a whole and argued that only “individuals have” called the for the murder of police.
On Sunday’s Meet the Press, moderator Chuck Todd hit House Benghazi committee chairman Trey Gowdy over his questioning of Hillary Clinton last week, specifically over the subject of Sidney Blumenthal.The NBC News Political Director asked Gowdy “[y]ou had made a promise that you were keeping the focus on Benghazi. Do you feel as if you did as much or -- even some Republicans were wondering why you were going down the Sidney Blumenthal -- what some called a rabbit hole.”
During an appearance on Friday’s CBS This Morning to promote her latest book, far-left feminist Gloria Steinem eagerly blamed Rush Limbaugh for making the word feminism a “bad word” because he “talks about feminazis everyday.” Co-host Norah O’Donnell teed up Steinem to bash Limbaugh by noting the Meryl Streep “doesn't consider herself a feminist. She says she considers herself a humanist. Why is it that the feminist label do you think has that–" bad connotation?
Following Rachel Maddow’s over-the-top praise of Vice President Joe Biden after he decided against a 2016 White House bid Wednesday afternoon, the liberal MSNBC host used her prime time show that night to continue to cheer the “universally well-liked” Biden. Maddow opened her show by gushing that “no one of his political stature has built up more of a store of legitimate human emotional goodwill with political enemies and friends alike. Nobody has that kind of reservoir of goodwill. Nobody has anything like that, compared to Joe Biden.”
During CBS This Morning’s daily “Headlines” segment on Thursday, co-host Norah O’Donnell eagerly touted a piece by Time magazine which “reports on Congressman Paul Ryan accused of hypocrisy.” The CBS reporter mentioned no names who accused Ryan of “hypocrisy” when she promoted the article and instead noted that “Ryan said if he were to serve as House Speaker he would not give up spending time with his family. Critics say Ryan has opposed measures to help families.”
On Wednesday’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow reacted to the news that Vice President Joe Biden had decided to not run for president by touting how “universally beloved Joe Biden is as an American political figure.”
On Wednesday’s View, liberal co-host Joy Behar admitted that she was “starting to warm up to Trump a little bit now” given the numerous liberal positions the Republican frontrunner has taken over the years. After Behar admitted Trump will “never replace my arousal feelings for Bernie” she touted how Trump “is not as bad as the rest” of the GOP field.
On Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, reporter Nancy Cordes previewed Congressman Paul Ryan’s expected bid to be the next Speaker of the House by repeatedly playing up the potential conflict he will have with the supposed “hardliners” within his own party. The CBS reporter introduced the segment by stressing how Ryan will only run for speaker if he receives support from the entire House Republican Conference which “turns the tables on hardline conservatives who were hoping to extract concessions from their next speaker in exchange for their support.”
During an interview with Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley on Tuesday, View co-host Michelle Collins gushed over the former Maryland governor’s “ripped” body. Collins touted how during last week’s debate “a lot of people knew who you were because there were pictures of you that went viral...Shirtless on the beach. Look at you there, for God's sake.”
On Tuesday, the hosts of CBS This Morning swooned over Chelsea Clinton during a softball interview to help promote her new children’s book. Co-host Gayle King set the tone for discussion when she eagerly proclaimed “Morning Charlotte’s mom!”
During Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update fake news segment, co-anchor Colin Jost compared Governor Mike Huckabee with pedophile Jared Fogle following the Republican’s criticism of the GOP debate. The SNL cast member proclaimed “Mike Huckabee was criticized during the debate when he tweeted that he trusts Bernie Sanders with his tax dollars like I trust my North Korean chef with my labrador. And I just want to say I trust Mike Huckabee with a joke like I trust Jared with my laptop.”
During an appearance on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday, veteran journalist Carl Bernstein trashed the Benghazi committee ahead of Hillary Clinton’s testimony and insisted the Democrat will “murder them because it has been a witch hunt. It has been partisan. It's great opportunity for her.”
During an appearance on Fox News’ MediaBuzz Sunday, former Special Report anchor Brit Hume blasted the media for its over-the-top reaction to recent comments Dr. Ben Carson made about guns in the wake of the Oregon shooting. Hume observed that “some of the reactions to his statements were bordered on hysterical.”
During an appearance on Sunday’s Meet the Press, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell complained to House Benghazi committee member Congressman Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) as to why “have you focused to much on e-mails and not on the central question of why was the security failure at that consulate?”
During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, the Washington Post’s Charles Lane helped preview Hillary Clinton’s upcoming testimony before the House Benghazi committee and declared “she comes in brimming with confidence.” Lane heaped praise on Clinton’s debate performance, specifically when she compared the Republicans with the Iranians as a moment when the Democratic frontrunner appeared “humorable” and the comments were “net plus for her.”
Speaking to Late Night host Seth Meyers on Wednesday about the recent Democratic presidential debate, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews conceded that self-described Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders was more in line with the future of the Democratic Party than Hillary Clinton.
During an appearance on PBS’ Charlie Rose on Wednesday night, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman heaped praise on Hillary Clinton’s debate performance and proclaimed that her campaign was popping champagne corks from her New York headquarters “to Nevada where the debate took place.”
On Wednesday’s The View, co-host Joy Behar gushed over Bernie Sanders’ performance at last night’s CNN Democratic debate and she proclaimed that the Socialist “aroused” her. The liberal ABC host gushed that Sanders was so “menschy in that moment like a real guy” when he defended Hillary Clinton from scrutiny over her e-mail scandal and insisted that she “find[s] him to be eye candy, not ear candy, eye candy.”
On Tuesday night, CNN will host the first of six Democratic presidential debates, and one top official from the Democratic National Committee will not be allowed to attend yet the “Big Three” (ABC, CBS, and NBC) networks have so far ignored the story on both their morning and evening broadcasts.
During an appearance on Fox News’ O’Reilly Factor Monday night, veteran journalist Bob Woodward had a bleak assessment of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign which he said was clearly in trouble. Woodward explained that “there are lots of unanswered questions, particularly on the e-mail but as I read your book about Reagan, which is a full excavation of his biography and everything in his life, every stage, we need to do that with Hillary Clinton.”
