Joy Behar Touts Trump’s Liberal Views: ‘He Agrees With Bernie’

October 21st, 2015 12:23 PM

On Wednesday’s View, liberal co-host Joy Behar admitted that she was “starting to warm up to Trump a little bit now” given the numerous liberal positions the Republican frontrunner has taken over the years.

After Behar admitted Trump will “never replace my arousal feelings for Bernie” she touted how Trump “is not as bad as the rest” of the GOP field.

The View host proceeded to list off all the liberal issues in which Trump sounds similar to Independent Socialist Bernie Sanders:

First of all, he may not be pro-choice but Rubio for example believes no abortion even in the cases of rape and incest. Trump doesn’t say that. Trump does not say that. He believes in single payer. He wants everybody to have healthcare from the government. He agrees with Bernie. He wants to raise taxes on the rich. He believes in Bernie.

Behar continued to gush over Trump’s opposition to the Iraq War and reiterated how he was the least objectionable Republican in her eyes:

I mean, I looked this up, I couldn't believe it, you know. And he was against the Iraq War, and he said so in one of his books before 9/11 even happened. So he was like nostraTrumpus.  You know what I’m saying...He's not as bad as the rest of them on that team.

ABC’s The View

October 21, 2015

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: You know, the latest ABC News poll has Donald Trump surging yet again. He has a double digit lead over Ben Carson and almost half the people polled said he'll win the nomination. What do you think?

RAVEN SIMONE: I would love to see a Trump on the main ticket and Ben Carson as his vice president because they’re just thick as thieves, causing trouble everywhere.

PAULA FARIS: Well, they’re yin and yang.

CANDACE CAMERON: The yin and the yang. And I've noticed a definite shift in Donald Trump in the way he talks about Ben. He had that whole thing about his faith and he kind of attacked Ben and now there's a lot of nice words being exchanged.

JOY BEHAR: I'm starting the warm up to Trump a little bit now.

FARIS: Wait, wait, what?

BEHAR: Yes. Wait a second. Hold on. I'm not voting for him, and I don't like the race baiting. Let's get that out of the way. And he'll never replace my arousal feelings for Bernie, but the guy is not as bad as the rest of them.

I mean, I looked this up, I couldn't believe it, you know. And he was against the Iraq War, and he said so in one of his books before 9/11 even happened. So he was like nostraTrumpus.  You know what I’m saying.

FARIS: He said in that book that it was going to happen.

BEHAR: He's not as bad as the rest of them on that team.
