Growing up in a quiet Jewish neighborhood of the Bronx, I was about as far removed as could be from the gun culture. But as a five or six year old, I would beg my parents to take me to visit the toy store a few blocks away so that I could gaze longingly in the window . . . at a toy six-shooter.

I share my story because I think it's typical. Of course there are exceptions, but from time immemorial the great majority of little boys have been drawn to toy weapons while little girls have largely been attracted to objects familial and domestic. At least until now. According to Yahoo Finance reporter Jen Rogers, who in an article entitled "Toys and gender: How things are changing this holiday season" recently wrote "if you think Barbies are for girls and Nerf weapons are for boys, you must be living in 2014."

Liberal, pro-abortion journalist Katie Couric on Tuesday interviewed the President of Planned Parenthood and worried about how “tough” pro-life supporters were making things for the organization. Couric snidely noted, “While Planned Parenthood says that abortions account for just three percent of its clinical work, opponents won't be happy until that number is zero.”

Japan, once a feared world economic powerhouse already at "two decades of little or no real economic growth," just reported that its economy contracted during the second quarter at an annual rate of 1.6 percent.

The common thread throughout the two-decade slump has been the alleged need for ever-increasing levels of Keynesian "stimulus." Apparently refusing to believe there are any other viable alternatives to what hasn't worked for 20 years, the world's press is expecting — and creating pressure for — even more "stimulus."

Ronda Rousey is as smart as she is tough, and she’s a hero for how she foiled a reporter’s attempt to turn her into a feminist icon on any terms other than her own.

In an interview this past weekend with Yahoo’s Bianna Golodryga, Rousey touched on why she believes MMA is the most pro-woman sport in the world. Yet, right after Rousey cited all the good things MMA has done for women, Golodryga strongly implied that Rousey is being discriminated against because she is making less money than male fighters, specifically Floyd Mayweather, due to the fact that she is a woman.

It’s well known that the mainstream media loves to vilify the State of Israel for their ongoing defensive struggle against terrorist groups residing in Gaza and the West Bank. This weekend they sunk to a new low when Yahoo! News ran a report from the Agence France-Presse with the headline “Israel army kills West Bank Palestinian.” The article then began with  “Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian man Sunday by hitting him with their jeep.” Accompanying the report on this supposed atrocity was a picture of a young protester with a toy slingshot.
