In the wake of violence that occurred while Americans celebrated the birth of their nation, Morning Joe took their time on Tuesday to lament over the problems that poor President Biden is facing in trying to balance pressure from the left to be fiery, and this promise to be a uniter.

On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Joy Reid had another freak-out on The ReidOut, this time doubling down on her false and reckless claims that the conservative-leaning Supreme Court unleashed Republican states to “literally take physical control of half the population” which she ridiculously defined as “women and queer folks with uteruses.” 

The hysteria that has been boiling over since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade was joined by comedian Jon Stewart last Thursday, on his The Problem podcast. And as you can see from the headline, things reached a fever pitch. In the aftermath of Monday’s Fourth of July shooting in Highland Park, Illinois that left six dead and dozens hurt, CBS Mornings and NBC’s Today partnered Tuesday with Mayor Nancy Rotering (D) as the latter called for the discussion of the suspect’s disturbing social media history (and thus the missed warning signs) “to be diminished” and instead focus on banning “weapons of war.”

On Sunday’s Media Buzz on the Fox News Channel, host Howard Kurtz opened his show by ripping into the media’s hyper partisan coverage of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade. Kurtz compared the media’s freak outs to their reaction after the Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage, as well as the orignial ruling in Roe v. Wade in 1973.

Jim Acosta may be stuck behind a desk, but the self-righteousness from his days as White House correspondent reappeared on Saturday’s CNN Newsroom as he hyped a new HBO documentary executive produced by Ronan Farrow entitled Endangered. As Acosta tells it, journalists are under attack around the world, including in America where conservatives don’t trust them.

Pro-lifers have routinely cited abortion laws in countries like China and North Korea as proof of Democratic extremism on the subject, but MSNBC’s Ali Velshi used his Saturday show to suggest that those two countries, as well as other dictatorships, prove that the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision was the radical position and that America is no longer a free country because of it.

Even by his standards, MSNBC presidential historian Michael Beschloss brought some absurd analysis to Friday’s edition of The 11th Hour where he claimed that for as supposedly bad as this Supreme Court term was, it could get even worse next term and that it is possible that the U.S. has seen its last “fair and free presidential election”

Going into the Fourth of July weekend on Friday, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough ended the 8 O’clock hour with an interview with presidential historian Jon Meacham where the duo went on to pompously and hypocritically wax poetic about the state of the country and how we should reflect on the situation we’re in regarding the January 6 hearings. NBC’s Today went into the holiday weekend Friday in a tizzy over the implementation of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law, decrying it as having “unleashed a torrent of controversy,” “combustible confrontations” by parents and “widespread confusion” and the insane, fact-free claim that it’s “frightening” to be a Floridian.

The trio of Chelsea Handler, Seth Meyers, and Stephen Colbert continued their lamentations at the downfall of Roe v. Wade on their Thursday night and Friday morning shows. The trio did everything from rage at random Twitter accounts, give the Supreme Court an “F” grade, and invited Justice Thomas to “suck it.”
