Liberals love science. Except when they come face-to-face with science that lacks a political agenda. That occurred this week when Judge Anita Brody handed down her ruling in the NFL’s concussion settlement that only deceased NFL players whose brains show evidence of CTE will automatically qualify for benefits from the fund. Not living retired players.

It was a victory for science over the supposedly science-loving media because it is a scientific fact, and for the media, an inconvenient truth, that CTE cannot currently be detected in a living person. In other words, you have to be dead in order to prove that you actually had CTE.

Nancy Armour was a sports writer for Associated Press for years before coming a sports columnist for USA Today. Or a sports censor. Armour believes anyone holding a conservative view based on some ancient holy text that homosexuality is a sin should be punished and exiled in some say. It's a "lunatic fringe," she writes.

When Indiana’s governor signed a law creating a religious-freedom exception for gay marriages, giving the right to refuse to participate or endorse it, Armour wrote “NCAA's next moves should be out of Indiana.” Everyone should evacuate the Hate State immediately!

It ain’t just you. Politics and ideology really are encroaching more on your favorite diversions, especially sports. And you can thank the usual suspects: journalists.

From Michael Sam to the Redskins to gun control and race relations, the very liberal sports media increasingly inject their preoccupations into their coverage. They just can’t leave you alone to enjoy the game – they have to “raise your consciousness.”

Despite all the best efforts of the fearmongering liberal media, most Americans and indeed most American parents, are perfectly fine with kids playing youth-league or high-school football, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. What's more, the so-called millennial demographic (18-34 year-olds) is among the demographic cohorts least concerned with kids playing the sport.

Professional sports is becoming increasingly political, thanks to the media. Journalists love to praise players who flaunt that they fall into a sexual minority or bash players and coaches if they happen to mention their Christianity or politics.

But NBC completely forgot to mention how the NFL showed support to the two NYPD officers who were targeted and killed last week. Both New York Jets then-coach Rex Ryan and New York Giants coach wore “NYPD” hats for their game Sunday.
