Behar admitted that “if somebody had said that to Donald Trump and he had laughed, we would be ripping him a new one and she did not -- she should have stood up to him, I'm sorry, I have to say that.”

Attempting to excuse Hillary Clinton laughing at one of her supporters wanting to “strangle” Carly Fiorina, NBC correspondent Kelly O’Donnell appeared on MSNBC’s 3 p.m. ET hour to offer up a defense of the harsh rhetoric: “He then told a very detailed story about having been an employee of HP and laid off and he had a lot of anger and upset about that...So he has a very direct personal relationship, if you will, to Fiorina as the CEO.”

Rather than denounce her supporter’s violent statement against Ms. Fiorina, Clinton instead laughed in amusement, as did the entire audience, before she joked that she “wouldn’t mess” with the man.

During the past three months, the big broadcast networks have essentially stopped covering most of the GOP presidential candidates, a lack of national news attention that presumably affects the national poll ratings used to determine which candidates are included in televised debates. Instead of covering the top 10 Republican candidates, or the entire current field of 15 candidates, the networks have now essentially pared down the field to five candidates: Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina.

This week, after CNBC's moderators assault the GOP candidates with a barrage of offensive attack questions, liberal reporters decry Republican complaints about the debacle: "This got a little revolting tonight," MSNBC's Chris Matthews sneered, while ABC daytime host Whoopi Goldberg advised the candidates: "Grow some nuts." And: CBS and PBS host Charlie Rose tells socialist candidate Bernie Sanders that none of his plans are "radical," while foul-mouthed Kathy Griffin unleashes on Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Marco Rubio.
ABC Report: Fiorina's Factual Assertion That Planned Parenthood Is Harvesting Baby Parts Is Only a 'Claim'
By Tom Blumer | November 7, 2015 | 10:42 AM EST On Friday's The View, as CNS News's Mark Judge reported, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar went ballistic when GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina stated that Planned Parenthood is "harvesting baby parts through late term abortion." Part of Goldberg's response as she serially talked over Fiorina: "You know that’s not true. Carly, you know no one’s harvesting baby parts." Behar chimed in: "That offends my sensibility to hear you say something like that when you know it’s not true.”
Fiorina was and remains indisputably correct, while Goldberg and Behar are both embarrassingly wrong. Yet an ABC report filed at its web site Friday afternoon by Jordyn Phelps would only characterize Fiorina's assertion of an obvious, widely-known fact as a "claim." Beyond that, Phelps characterized the candidate's citation of Planned Parenthood's announced decision to cease taking compensation for harvested body as merely being (in Fiorina's view) "proof of her point."

Carly Fiorina on Friday debated the liberal co-hosts of The View, mocking them for attacks on her and also lobbying for honesty about the double standard conservative women face. At one point, the Republican lectured: “If all of you are honest, you will admit that this is the reality. Conservative women are held to a different standard than liberal women. That's just true.” When the liberal Joy Behar wondered, “by whom,” Fiorina retorted, “By all of you. By the liberal media.”

On Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden ended his flirtation with a bid for the 2016 Democratic nomination, but only after an extended period in which the broadcast networks gave his non-candidacy more airtime than that of any declared Republican or Democratic candidate other than frontrunners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. From August 1, when the networks began covering the possibility of a Biden candidacy, through October 20, the ABC, CBS and NBC evening news broadcasts devoted 98 minutes of airtime to the possibility of a Biden-for-President campaign.
