For weeks now, Joe Scarborough has been expressing befuddlement over Ben Carson's appeal. It boiled over on today's Morning Joe, as Scarborough went on an extended anti-Carson rant.
Scarborough unleashed after clips were played from town halls in Iowa and New Hampshire in which Republican voters expressed strong support for the notion of Carson as a qualified president. Calling Carson unqualified to be president, Joe railed that he'd seen people like Carson on school boards who got into trouble because they were in "over their heads."

The major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC all omitted from their Wednesday evening newscasts the latest noteworthy comment from Vice President Joe Biden that the Republican Party is “beating” up Hispanics but instead continued harping on Ben Carson’s response to how he’d react if he came face-to-face with a mass shooter.

The outraged journalists at NBC, ABC and CBS on Wednesday slammed the “controversial,” “beyond insensitive” Ben Carson for his comments about last week’s mass shooting in Oregon. Their anger provides a strong contrast to controversial statements by Hillary Clinton in recent days. Carson urged people in mass shooting to attack the gunman, prompting Today co-host Natalie Morales to rage, “It's beyond insensitive. It's hard to hear that.”

On Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, the show’s three hosts spent the entirety of a 7 minute interview with Dr. Ben Carson grilling the Republican presidential candidate from the left over his support for the Second Amendment. After reporter Julianna Goldman ran an anti-Carson piece during the 7:00 a.m. hour in which she played up his “controversial comments” following the Oregon school shooting, during the 8:00 hour, co-host Gayle King tried to lecture the retired neurosurgeon on the meaning behind the Second Amendment.

On Tuesday, ABC’s World News Tonight filed its lone 2016 election report on GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson in attempt to slam him for his response to a question on FNC’s Fox & Friends about how he’d deal with facing a mass shooter and his desire to arm trained schoolteachers to protect their students. With the on-screen headline entitled “Carson controversy,” anchor David Muir hyped that there was a “new headline tonight involving Dr. Ben Carson and what he said about guns.”

During Monday's edition of CNN Tonight With Don Lemon, the host lost control of a discussion about what Republican presidential candidates Ben Carson, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz have said about not accepting a Muslim as the nation's commander in chief.
Referring specifically to Carson's comment on the potential for a Muslim president -- which he said he would not support because of Islam’s ties to rigid Sharia law -- Rula Jebreal, a foreign policy analyst, slammed the GOP candidates, going so far as to assert that if someone took a gun into a mosque and killed the people inside, the Republicans “would have blood on their hands.”

Imagine my "surprise" (not really) when I came across a Thursday Daily Beast item originally referenced by Mark Levin on his radio show (HT Joe Newby at Examiner.com) about the comments of a "secular Muslim" in response to what 2016 Republican presidential contender Ben Carson had to say about whether he could support a strict, sharia-compliant Muslim to be this nation's chief executive.
The author of that column, Asra Q. Nomani, effectively made mincemeat out of a "fact check" written by Glenn Kessler at the Washington Post on Tuesday. You see, Kessler, in what must be his worst "fact check" ever, gave Carson's statement about the Muslim concept of taqiyya, namely that it "is a component of Sharia that allows, and even encourages you to lie to achieve your goals," a grade of "Four Pinocchios," i.e., "a whopper."

CNN's Chris Cuomo painted a cynical picture of Dr. Ben Carson on Monday's New Day, as the newscast covered Jake Tapper's interview of the Republican presidential candidate from Sunday. Cuomo contended that Carson's recent stance against Muslims becoming president of the United States was a calculated move towards a supposedly extreme part of the GOP: "The problem is the candidate...seems to be pandering to a xenophobic religious minority in this country that's anti-Islam."
