Nearly a half-hour into Saturday’s Democratic presidential debate on CBS, Salon writer Joan Walsh and former Democratic Vermont Governor Howard Dean took to Twitter to blast moderator John Dickerson for merely asking legitimate questions of the candidates on foreign policy and whether or not the United States (and by extension, the West) is at war with “radical Islam.” 

Talk about an inconvenient truth . . . Don't know if we've ever witnessed such a blatant suppression of facts--even on MSNBC.

Republican strategist Jessica Proud was a guest this morning on Al Sharpton's MSNBC show, which has been turfed out of its weekday slot and relegated to the early Sunday-morning wilderness. When discussion turned to the Benghazi hearing, Proud pointed out that Hillary, Susan Rice and President Obama lied about the cause of the attack. But before Proud could make her case—based on emails Hillary sent acknowledging that the internet video was not the cause—Sharpton shut her down, saying "let's go to other news of the week" and opening a discussion of Joe Biden's decision not to run.  

On his Monday edition of Hardball, MSNBC host Chris Matthews, along with panelists Eugene Robinson, Howard Fineman, and Joan Walsh hit socialist Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.) from the left for his voting record on gun rights, particularly a 2005 bill that granted civil immunity from gun manufacturers. At one point, Matthews even oddly compared Sanders to the late liberal-but-racist segregationist Sen. William Fulbright (D-Ark.), suggesting his vote on the gun immunity bill was unforgivable much like Fulbright's defense of Jim Crow.
 

Cradle Catholic Chris Matthews spent the first segment of his September 23 Hardball program effusively praising Pope Francis, particularly for raising immigration and climate change in his brief remarks at a welcome ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House. But in a later segment, Matthews and guests Joan Walsh and Sister Simone Campbell lamented how even the liberal-leaning Francis is closed to the idea of women serving as priests in the Catholic Church.

At one point, Matthews offered up his theory for why the opposition was so long-standing, and it boiled down to, wait for it, a celibate Catholic clergy.

Looks like Up With Steve Kornacki is becoming the go-to place for liberals to let their radical cats out of the bag . . . Yesterday, as we reported here, Josh Barro of the New York Times said that the only way to impact violent crime is to undertake a "massive" gun grab. Today, it was the turn of Salon's Joan Walsh to admit that she doesn't know "any liberals upset--outraged" by illegal immigration.

As we said of Barro, kudos to Walsh for her candor.  And really, why would liberals be upset by millions of illegal, low-skilled, immigrants flooding into the country?  It's not as if America has a culture worth preserving, after all.  And as we know, another term for illegal immigrants is "future Democratic voters."
