Breitbart’s John Nolte had the opportunity to interview CNN’s Jake Tapper on his new show State of the Union, as well as get Tapper’s opinion on the issues of today including “Caitlyn Jenner”, same sex marriage, The Clinton Foundation, media bias, and conservative media critics.

When it came to the topic of “Caitlyn Jenner” and how the media will handle the story with Republican candidates, Tapper promised he won't  be setting traps for politicians of either party, and "I also believe that tough abortion questions should be asked of Democrats as well as Republicans."

CNN’s Jake Tapper kicked off his new hosting gig on the Sunday news show “State of the Union” featuring an interview with Bill Clinton, arranged through his Clinton Global Initiative. It’s a big name, but a tough start for a serious journalist. With the exception of his infamous snorting, knee-jabbing performance with Chris Wallace in 2006, the former president has negotiated a succession of journalistic foot-rubs surrounding his tightly scripted Global shindigs.

On that sycophantic curve, Tapper did well. Why can't others put this "genius" through the paces?

Peter denied Jesus three times but Hillary Clinton appears to have a much more difficult task; she is going to have to deny herself at least 45 times.

Last Friday, Hillary Clinton's spokesperson, Karen Finney, appeared on CNN's The Lead and exasperated Jake Tapper by continuing to avoid avoid answering the important question as to whether her boss still supports or opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade bill in Congress. Not a good move in the long run because yesterday Tapper struck back by listing in detail with her own quotes 45 times that Hillary pushed the trade bill over the years. First Tapper writes about Hillary's current reluctance to back the trade bill in stark contrast to the many times she strongly supported it in the past:

Could you just give me a straight answer? Like a simple yes or no? Please don't try to squirm your way out of it. You still won't answer? Aggghhh! Aggghhh! AGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

One could forgive Jake Tapper if he felt like channeling his inner Sam Kinison on CNN's The Lead today while he was trying to get a simple answer from Hillary Clinton spokeswoman, Karen Finney, on the subject of Hillary's position on the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) trade bill in Congress. Tapper's very visible exasperation with Finney's nonanswers were  completely understandable as she continued her evasive shuffle on the topic all through the interview.

"[W]e in journalism need to come to a place and realize that when you make mistakes you need to own up to them immediately and apologize." -- Jake Tapper

During an exclusive interview with former Baltimore Mayor and Maryland Democratic Governor Martin O’Malley on Thursday’s edition of The Lead on CNN, host Jake Tapper asked the possible presidential candidate for what he thinks of “conservatives who say, this shows that liberal policies are failing urban America.” In addition to discussing the protests and rioting in Baltimore and what was then known about the investigation into the death of Freddie Gray, Tapper shifted to discussing his record as mayor in context of what’s taken place over the last week in the Charm City.

Friday's NBC Nightly News stood out for its coverage of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which began on April 24, 1915. Anchor Lester Holt gave a 27-second news brief on the "somber hundredth anniversary being marked around the world today – remembering what Pope Francis recently called the first genocide of the 20th century." ABC's World News Tonight and CBS Evening News both failed to cover the centenary of the mass murders.

Congratulations to Jake Tapper! The host of CNN's The Lead has today been named as the new host of the Sunday morning news show, State of the Union. Whatever his personal political proclivities might be, Tapper has proven himself to be a generally honest reporter. It is hard to imagine him acting in such a blatantly political manner as previous State of the Union host, Candy Crowley, did when she acted as an Obama enabler when she moderated a 2012 presidential debate.

However will Tapper's positive personal qualities be enough to buck the liberal CNN tide? Sadly yesterday amidst the fast breaking news of even more serious Clinton scandals, Tapper's The Lead as well as almost all the rest of CNN shows yesterday remained a Clinton scandal-free zone. We shall get to that later but first let us view the happy announcement of Tapper's new duties in addition to continuing to host The Lead.

The Hollywood Reporter publicized that CNN boasts it hired 40 new political reporters to beef up for the 2016 campaign. What was less factual was the argument that CNN is the “neutral” or fact-based channel in cable news. They reported CNN Washington bureau chief Sam Feist “hopes the network's comparatively neutral status on the political spectrum will work to its advantage in a race with no incumbent.”

As of Friday morning, ABC, CBS, and NBC's morning and evening newscasts had yet to cover Hillary Clinton's false claim that all four of her grandparents emigrated to the United States. In reality, only one – Hugh Rodham, Sr. – was born abroad in England. By contrast, all three main cable news channels – CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC – covered Mrs. Clinton's tall tale about her family between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening.

Appearing on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper on Tuesday afternoon, chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his Likud Party and “right-wing” allies for having “a sort-of racist policy towards” Arabs that has been “very scary for them” as the world awaited results from the national elections in Israel.

In reaction to Hillary Clinton’s press conference on Tuesday addressing her email scandal, CNN host Wolf Blitzer praised the softball question asked by a Turkish reporter about gender playing a role in the media coverage of the scandal as a “good question from Turkish television.” After expressing approval of the question from Turkish reporter Kahraman Haliscelik, CNN’s chief political analyst Gloria Borger spun for the Clinton camp by predicting that the presser “detoxed” the scandal “a little bit” and defended her deleting of emails by saying she “delete[s] personal emails after I get them very often.”
