On Saturday's Good Morning America, co-host Dan Harris suggested Hillary Clinton "may actually have been right" about Donald Trump turning up in ISIS videos. And during the subsequent segment, reporter Mary Bruce said Hillary "predicted" Trump "would" be used in ISIS videos. There's only one hitch: Hillary hadn't "predicted" what ISIS "would" do. On December 19th, during a Democratic debate, Hillary claimed that ISIS was already using Trump in recruitment videos. But no terror group used Trump in a video before today, when he turned up in a video not by ISIS but from an al Qaeda-affiliated group.

Good Morning America’s Dan Harris on Sunday lectured viewers on worrying too much about terrorism and instead pushed gun control. Regarding Islamic plots, he wondered, “But, how serious is this threat, really?” Harris noted, “Terror attacks are actually quite rare. Since 9/11, Islamic extremists have killed 45 Americans on U.S. soil. Five a year, on average.”

When last month Ben Carson suggested that people confronted by a shooter should rush him en masse, ABC ran a story criticizing him, claiming that Carson "appears to be second-guessing" the victims of the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.
But on ABC's Good Morning America today, in the wake of the mass shooting in Colorado Springs, guess what an expert suggested? "If you can get other people to go with you, that is extremely important, in fact, that's one of the teaching tools today in schools is everyone at mass start throwing stuff at the shooter and go at him." So, did GMA host Dan Harris criticize the expert for second-guessing the victims? Of course not. He's not a Republican running for office. Harris called the expert's suggestion "great advice."

Following a Hillary Clinton campaign rally on Saturday that featured singer Katy Perry and former President Bill Clinton, NBC and ABC were beside themselves in gushing over the event. On Saturday’s NBC Nightly News, correspondent Kelly O’Donnell proclaimed: “Hillary Clinton's team is going all in on star power....husband Bill Clinton's first campaign stop here in Iowa....superstar hit maker [Katy Perry], whose song is Clinton’s campaign theme.... After a tough slide this summer, Clinton has hit a high note.”

Despite a four-hour running time, NBC’s Today on Thursday skipped any mention of the latest on the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal. CBS This Morning managed 25 seconds. ABC’s Good Morning America offered 27 seconds. GMA’s Dan Harris highlighted an Associated Press report claiming, “Clinton's private e-mail server was the target of attempted cyber attacks from China, South Korea and Germany.” He added, “A contractor hired to protect Clinton's private information warned that her server was vulnerable.”

During it’s preview of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s presidential announcement on Monday, CBS This Morning made sure to cast doubt on whether or not the Republican was “ready” to assume the White House in 2016. The CBS reporter insisted that “awkward exchanges” like one with a British reporter “have raised questions about his readiness for prime time” and “[t]o guard against criticism that he lacks a certain presidential heft, the governor has been undergoing weeks of briefs on global issues, everything from net neutrality to ISIS.”

The normally vacuous Nightline on Tuesday night took a break from such topics as "bootleg butt injections" and instead offered a sympathetic look at San Francisco's sanctuary city law. The city's practice of not reporting illegal immigrants came under harsh scrutiny after a woman was murdered by a man who had been deported five times. ABC analyst Dan Abrams appeared to defend the laws, saying, "The so-called sanctuary laws are really efforts by local officials to say 'we think it's more important to be able to develop relationships with undocumented immigrants than it is to report them.'"

Kathryn Steinle, 32, was killed by a Mexican who had seven felony convictions and had been deported five times. This resulted in extensive coverage on ABC, CBS and NBC from Friday through Monday.

On Friday morning, all three of the major broadcast networks surprisingly covered the latest in the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal as 15 e-mails between Clinton and former confidante Sidney Blumenthal were discovered missing from her time at the State Department. Despite the over five and half minutes of coverage, CBS and NBC expressed concern that “the revelation” could create “a new distraction” for Clinton’s presidential campaign.
