One day, someone will have to write a book about the topical dexterity of one Donald John Trump.

Fresh off beating the drum for possible constitutional amendments and shouting at reporters over the term “anchor babies,” Donald Trump has seen fit to ally himself with another wealthy and successful achiever in the public eye who is currently in a fight with his own version of “the establishment.”

Athlete endorsements are tricky.

Sometimes you want them, such as when Michael Jordan hosted a celebrity fundraiser for President Obama in 2012 which netted the Prez a million dollars. Sometimes you don’t want them, like yesterday when Charles Barkley said he would vote for John Kasich. Barkley, a liberal Democrat, noted he’d prefer ultra-lefties Elizabeth Warren and Julian Castro. But, barring their entrance, Kasich looks like his guy.

James Harrison has delivered the most jarring hit of his career. Except this time it isn’t Tom Brady or Joe Flacco picking himself up off the turf, looking for a flag. This time he sacked the wussifiers of America.

Harrison made the single greatest use of Instagram in the history of Instagram this weekend, announcing he was taking away his boys’ participation trophies because he wanted them to earn the awards.

The last NBA player to deliver the “Kiss of Death,” was Mario Elie of the Houston Rockets. Who in 1995, nailed the critical 3-pointer to complete the Rockets comeback, and eventual elimination of the Phoenix Suns.

That was the last true “Kiss of Death” that was kissed in the NBA. Until this morning.

If there were a parenting award, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ James Harrison would win it. On the other hand, if the Self-Esteem Industrial Complex had a Most Wanted List, Harrison would be on that too.

The Super Bowl champion linebacker took to Instagram over the weekend, and unlike the sort of lewd depravity and self-congratulation that normally attends the Instagram messages of the NFL’s elite, Harrison had an actual message for his audience, and it should be sung from the mountaintops.

This week’s edition of, “Let’s freak out over something completely irrelevant and meaningless in the sports world,” brings us into the realm of college football.

The Confederate Battle flag remains very much on the hit list of the left, and some on the right. Now the Stars n’ Bars finds itself in the crosshairs of the coaches at Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was for defending Planned Parenthood from Ben Carson, before he decided he was against it. Shortly after midnight EST Monday, Cuban sent a shot across the bow of Republican Presidential candidate Ben Carson for his comments attacking Planned Parenthood and one of its founders, eugenics activist and coiner of the term “birth control” Margaret Sanger.

This past Wednesday on Fox News, Carson responded to Democrats’ claim that the Republican effort to defund Planned Parenthood was a part of the “War on Women.”

In a stunning coincidence of epic proportions that no one could have possibly seen coming, ESPN has found another gay professional athlete less than three days after Michael Sam’s announcement that he is walking away from football.

This most recent out-of-the-closet jock comes to us by way of baseball. David Denson, a minor league first baseman in the Brewers organization, recently came out to his teammates, a process he explained in the ESPN article:

For the second time in just over two months since Michael Sam joined the CFL Montreal Alouettes, he is leaving the team. This time it sounds like it’s for good.

Sam, a defensive end from Missouri, came out as gay before the 2014 NFL draft, to the triumphal declarations from ESPN and the media at large. When the confetti settled, the “Gay Jackie Robinson” was drafted in the seventh round by the St. Louis Rams. Cut by the Rams without ever playing a down, he joined the Dallas Cowboys practice squad for a cup of coffee.

If USA Today has 99 problems, having too many issues to report that are of crucial interest to readers would clearly not be one of them.

On Tuesday, USA Today Sports ran a piece documenting the odyssey of transgender male athlete Keelin Godsey, an 11-time All American and National Champion in women’s hammerthrow.

Ronda Rousey is as smart as she is tough, and she’s a hero for how she foiled a reporter’s attempt to turn her into a feminist icon on any terms other than her own.

In an interview this past weekend with Yahoo’s Bianna Golodryga, Rousey touched on why she believes MMA is the most pro-woman sport in the world. Yet, right after Rousey cited all the good things MMA has done for women, Golodryga strongly implied that Rousey is being discriminated against because she is making less money than male fighters, specifically Floyd Mayweather, due to the fact that she is a woman.

Former New England Patriot and SMU running back Craig James is suing Fox Sports for religious discrimination.

The former ESPN, and briefly Fox Sports, employee claims that his firing from Fox was due to comments he made opposing same-sex marriage while running for U.S. Senate. James’ suit was filed in Dallas County Court on Monday.
