Our good friend at the Washington Free Beacon Stephen Gutowski – formerly of our sister site MRCTV – has an excellent piece up about how the liberal media are credulously parroting lefty gun-control advocates' who make it out as though there is literally just one mass shooting in America every day of the year.
As Steve shows in his piece, it's simply not true as judged by impartial criteria laid down by the FBI.

At the top of Thursday’s NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer seized on a BBC World News correspondent dismissing the San Bernardino shooting as “just another day” in America: “I don't often start coverage of an event like this by talking about how other people are covering it, but a commentator for the BBC said overnight, ‘Just another day in the United States – another day of guns, chaos, and panic. This time in the city of San Bernardino.’”

Three CNN programs on Wednesday night and Thursday morning promoted the anti-prayer front page of the New York Daily News: "God Isn't Fixing This." Unsurprisingly, pro-gun control anchor Carol Costello quoted from the liberal newspaper's headline and sub-headline on Thursday's CNN Newsroom: "It's gotten a lot of buzz this morning...It reads, 'God Isn't Fixing This,' and slams [Ted] Cruz and other 2016 contenders as — quote, 'cowards who continue to hide behind meaningless platitudes.'"

MRC President Brent Bozell on Thursday slammed the media’s mocking of religious Americans who offered prayers in the wake of the shooting in California. Responding to a New York Daily News cover saying, “God Isn’t Fixing This,” Bozell attacked, “If you don't want to believe in God, you don't want to believe in God. But what the New York Daily News did here was take it far further than that and ridicule people of faith for offering simple prayers.”

On Thursday, both CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today eagerly promoted the New York Daily News attacking Republicans for sending “thoughts and prayers” to victims of the San Bernardino shooting but not signing on to liberal gun control measures. This Morning co-host Gayle King declared: “I think this headline’s very powerful.”

Maybe Martin O'Malley could come up with a list of all the constitutional rights which, as president, he would suspend. On Jose Diaz-Balart's MSNBC show today, discussing the rights of Americans to buy guns, O'Malley said "the very fact that Paul Ryan would start talking about due process and these sorts of issues, I mean I think is outrageous" in the wake of San Bernardino.
During an appearance earlier in the day on Morning Joe, Ryan had discussed the need to respect due process in the context of politicians, including President Obama, who complain that people on no-fly lists are not ipso facto prohibited from buying guns. Ryan pointed out that some people are placed on such lists mistakenly.

ABC on Thursday exploited the mass shooting in California as a way to tout the gun control advocacy of celebrities and politicians. Good Morning America reporter Jon Karl highlighted Barack Obama’s “frustration” at the inability to pass new restrictions. Correspondent Michael Strahan read tweets from “actor and gun control activist” Amy Schumer, including this one: “It doesn't have to be this way. Join the movement and help us. #Endgunviolence."

In addition to his hours-long Twitter tirade on Wednesday attacking God-fearing people for offering their “thoughts and prayers” in reaction to the San Bernardino, Think Progress contributing editor Igor Volsky capped off his day on the 11:00 p.m. Eastern edition of MSNBC’s All In where host Chris Hayes gave him the floor to pontificate about how “all we hear from these people is thoughts and prayers” and no action against the NRA.

In the story itself, Tau relays Obama's gun-control talking points from his latest interview, recorded Wednesday afternoon after news of the deadly San Bernardino mass shooting.
