The long and short of Jill Filipovic's Friday op-ed in the New York Times was her outrage that the Catholic Church – and specifically, Pope Francis – still considered abortion to be a grave sin. The former Cosmopolitan political writer asserted that Pope Francis "offering forgiveness" to women who've had abortion is "a softer version of the same judgment: that the millions of women around the world who have abortions every year are sinners. Inviting women to feel shame and guilt for their abortions isn't a mercy; it's cruelty."

Jeffrey Tayler of The Atlantic offered more of his anti-theist – and especially, anti-Catholic – vitriol in a Sunday item for the left-wing Salon. Tayler likened God to Don Corleone of The Godfather, and then spent most of his column ranting about how Pope Francis is akin to the fictional Mafia boss. The atheist claimed that "Don Corleone could only have dreamed of committing crimes on the scale on which the Vatican operates," and contended that "the Pope stands firmly on the side of medievalism."

Three weeks ago, concerning Associated Press coverage of investigations into Planned Parenthood's baby body parts business, I noted that "Bad news for Planned Parenthood gets only local coverage," while "Exculpatory news, even if artificially concocted, gets national exposure."
Add the following to that observation: Obama administration attempts to punish states for attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, clearly nationally significant, only get local coverage. Kansas provides such an example.

Politifact, the alleged fact-checking site which has for years almost invariably insisted on calling obvious truths stated by Republicans and conservatives "Half True" at best and often worse, while taking flat-out lies by leftists and pretending they contain some element of truth, has issued a "Pants on Fire" rating on Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid's outrageously false claim last week that Planned Parenthood is "the only health care that a significant number of women get," specifically contending that this is the case for 30 percent of women.

MSNBC's Thomas Roberts surprisingly pursued Hillary Clinton spokeswoman Karen Finney on his Wednesday program over the ongoing controversy surrounding the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of the organs of aborted babies. When Finney admitted that Mrs. Clinton had only seen clips of the videos, Roberts wondered, "Why not see the videos?" He later underlined that "not having seen, in full context, what the videos represent...makes a vulnerability for those people that are out there trying to defend it."

CNN's Jake Tapper went after Josh Earnest on Monday's The Lead, after the White House press secretary admitted that he hadn't seen any of the undercover Planned Parenthood videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, and was "relying on news reports that I've seen" about the controversy. Tapper pointed out that "the whole video is put up on the website of this anti-abortion group that put them out." When Earnest blasted the pro-life group for their "ideological games," the anchor retorted that "somebody at the White House should maybe watch the videos in full."

Appearing on Wednesday's New Day, CNN political reporter Sara Murray sounded more like a liberal CNN political commentator as she slammed GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush's comments about the federal government perhaps spending more money than it should on women's issues, as she called his remarks "cringeworthy" and "demeaning." She went on to declare that the Bush soundbite was a "gift" for Hillary Clinton and, referring to these women's programs, oddly asserted that "this is how we reproduce in America," as if federal programs were necessary for human reproduction.

CNN's Alisyn Camerota actually pressed Planned Parenthood executive vice president Dawn Laguens on Tuesday's New Day over the controversy surrounding the abortion organization's sale of organs and other tissues from aborted babies. Camerota wondered, "As a result of these [undercover] videos...is there any soul searching that's going on in Planned Parenthood today – not, obviously, about the mission statement of what Planned Parenthood does – but, perhaps, about the method or the means of talking about it?"

On Tuesday's New Day, CNN's Alisyn Camerota forwarded pro-abortion groups' smear of the Center for Medical Progress, which has been releasing the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials admitting that they vary its abortion techniques in order to preserved the organs of unborn babies for medial research. During an interview of David Daleiden, Camerota touted that "critics of your organization...say that you're not journalists, as you purport to be on your website, but rather, you're violent extremists."

How dehumanized have abortion’s most rabid defenders become? This afternoon, abortion apologist Amanda Marcotte, a radical feminist writer for RawStory, made the ultimate in frivolous – not to mention idiotic – analogies. She tweeted: “Hating PPFA is, in this sense, no different that getting mad that someone uses food stamps to buy strawberries.”
This, in the face of the latest video showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing selling aborted baby parts (and PP workers picking through fetal remains like butchers) is almost unimaginable moral obtuseness.
Bloomberg Business Ignores Planned Parenthood Scandal; Praises Buffett’s Funding of Birth Control ‘Revolution’

That tycoon was the “Oracle of Omaha” and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway himself: Warren Buffett, a huge donor to birth control, and the abortion industry through his Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation.
The magazine devoted a four-page spread to the story of “how the billionaire’s family secretly funded a revolution in birth control.” But that isn’t all he has funded. Buffett has given more than $1 billion to abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood which is currently embroiled in scandal due to a series of shocking undercover videos. Bloomberg Businessweek complete ignored that scandal and barely touched on the extent of Buffett’s support for the group.
