Senate Report: Over 400 Scientists Dispute Manmade Global Warming

So, the debate is over, right? The science is settled?

Well, according to a report just published at the United States Senate Committee on Environment & Public works website, over 400 prominent scientists from all over the world have "voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called ‘consensus' on man-made global warming."

As it appears a metaphysical certitude green media will totally boycott these revelations, NewsBusters is presenting some of the findings:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.

The new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee's office of the GOP Ranking Member details the views of the scientists, the overwhelming majority of whom spoke out in 2007.

Even some in the establishment media now appear to be taking notice of the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, the Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics "appear to be expanding rather than shrinking." Many scientists from around the world have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming fears "bite the dust." (LINK) In addition, many scientists who are also progressive environmentalists believe climate fear promotion has "co-opted" the green movement. (LINK)

This blockbuster Senate report lists the scientists by name, country of residence, and academic/institutional affiliation. It also features their own words, biographies, and weblinks to their peer reviewed studies and original source materials as gathered from public statements, various news outlets, and websites in 2007. This new "consensus busters" report is poised to redefine the debate.

Many of the scientists featured in this report consistently stated that numerous colleagues shared their views, but they will not speak out publicly for fear of retribution. Atmospheric scientist Dr. Nathan Paldor, Professor of Dynamical Meteorology and Physical Oceanography at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, author of almost 70 peer-reviewed studies, explains how many of his fellow scientists have been intimidated.

Though lengthy, readers are strongly encouraged to review this entire document to learn the truth about what real scientists - those not receiving Oscars, Emmys, and Nobel Peace Prizes - think about this controversial issue.

Kudos, Noel!

Thanks for adding this, though I highly doubt it will make any genuine impression on the sycophant twue bewievers of the Church of Gore Human-Activity-Caused Climate Change aka Anthropogenic Global Warming.

Candidates Silent

Too bad Senator Inhofe can't get any of his party's Presidential candidates to speak out in support of this position.

not going to let go of a power grab

Even the dippy Republican candidates know a good thing when they see it. The is a monstrous power (and tax) grab and they all know it. Just look at the salivating vultures over at the UN. They know the US can pull so much money away from them they need a money stream. So, how about a carbon tax on international airlines...? etc, etc, etc.

EDIT-ADD ON:

Unfortunately it seems as if he has gotten a little wishy washy on it---more of the politicians answer.  H&C last nite:

COLMES: That's a very good line. I'm sure you'll be quoted on that. Let me ask you this — let me give you a minute to answer the question you didn't answer during the debate. Do we have a serious problem with global warming? Is it a threat? And is it caused by human beings?

THOMPSON: Well, that's one of the questions we don't know, the last one that you just asked. There's no question in my mind that the world is warming. There's no question that humans are making some contribution to that. But there's a lot of answers that we don't have yet, Alan, that we need to get. We need to know whether or not this is a part of a phase or whether or not it's permanent, as best we can tell.

We've had cooling periods in our country — or in our world before. We don't know the extent to which this is man made. We don't know the effects of it. The estimates of the results of all of this are all over the map. And I object to those people who say the books are closed, no more questions can be asked, we've got to now adopt the solutions that we're putting forth. We're not there yet.

EDIT ADD-ON 2:

It looks as if our only two choices, at least concerning the AGW issue is Thompson and Huckabee:

Al Gorefication Re Education Facility

Obvisously these 400 minds are insane, just like all people in the Soviet Union Chicomia, North Korea and Vietnam were insane in not believing what the communists were telling them in taking power from the masses.

Al Gore must now settle this but calling on Nance Pelosi and Nance Reid to fund re education camps runs by Dr. Strangewarm Galen McKinley with 5000 branch offices around the nation to teach little children to chant "George Bush hate black people", teenagers, "Being a sodomite is a good thing" college kids, "Christians are evil" and old geezers, "I hate America" or their liver pills will be stopped.

Yes these 400 are insane and an infection and an infestation to the world, the Gang of 400 must be sent to re education camps where they can play in 20 below weather.......I mean a balmy invigorating global warming winter hot temperature as the NASA data center is next to the smoke stack of natural gas plant.........and thereby taught to chant their mantras "Al is good" so they can be fed on 3 soybeans a day and drinking their own urine as recycling is good.

*Obviously satire and perfectly True as Rush Limbaugh says satire should be as all of the above is historical fact in how liberals run things.
Gee who was it that came out with "red states" while Conservatives just called it all America?

Holy Shinto ... We NEED Global Warming

Ever spent a winter in Chicago?

Or New England? or Canada? or Siberia?

My God, man ... we NEED global warming to save the planet from the global disaster of "global freezing".

If these global warming idiots did the same thing with the numbers from FREEZING weather as they do with the numbers from WARM weather ... you could build a doomsday scenario for global catastrophe from global COOLING.

Cherry-pick your cold temperatures, have weather stations put their thermometers in the shade instead of on brick walls exposed to 10 hours of direct sunlight, create computer models that "prove" global cooling and the threat of the next ice age, get a Democrat who could barely maintain a 'C' in basic science to become the messiah for your cause, and then create billions of dollars in government funding to keep your religion operating into perpetuity.

The Benefits of "Global" Warming

Longer growing seasons, lower winter utility bills, tens of thousands of lives saved every year from winter-related deaths, an increase in the amount of arable land, increased rainfall (because of increased evaporation from the world's oceans), world poverty ended forever, etc. etc. etc.

Where do the benefits end?

Only problem is ... there is no "global" warming - only regional, seasonal, and cyclical temperature fluctuations.

Ever Wonder...

why climate scientists call warm periods "climate optimums?"

Just my $0.02

The worst moment ...

Probably the worst moment of this entire year for me was when Al Gore, a former journalist himself, told reporters that journalists should no longer "question" whether global warming existed. I found such a hard-handed statement to be offensive and disturbing.

Too bad Inhofe couldn't have

Too bad Inhofe couldn't have slapped some sense into his Republican colleagues BEFORE they voted on the worthless "energy bill"!

It didn't take long

I read the document in its entirety this morning and blogged about it. It didn't take long before I was being called a flat earther.

I contend....Lucretius decried the idea of a spherical earth in the 1st century B.C. - Aristotle was a flat earth skeptic.

The flat earth society was proven wrong....in that context, die hard global warming absolutists are actually the new flat earth society, and science will prove them wrong. They call skeptics heretics and cast them out, much the same as flat earthers in centuries past did to the skeptics.

Here's a consensus if I ever saw one...

AlGore

AlGore belongs in an insane asylum (one besides the Democratic Party).

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

And not one media outlet

Carries the press release from these scientists. I wonder why that is?

It seems that only 9 scientists who support the IPCC and the Goracle. The hoax is percipitously lacking of supporters.

"over 400 prominent

"over 400 prominent scientists from all over the world,..."

Yeah and several billion people who will be hosed by this fraud are catching on too.

Screw you Al Gore!

Fly on the wall

Al Gore: Hey James, there’s another 400 scientists that have caught on to our game here. This consensus crap is starting to fall apart on us. Some of these guys have even figured out it’s about the sun.  What do you think we should do?

James Hansen: I dunno Al. It’s getting so a scientist can not make a dishonest living anymore.

AG: How ‘bout you supply me with some more phony temperature readings from the last 20 years?

JH: Bad idea Al. Since those court jesters McIntire and Watts starting checking up on the rigged data and bogus surface stations I’m having second thoughts. I maybe good at manipulating data but I’m not as comfortable as you at being a lying hypocrite.

AG: Good point James. We could bring more scientists into our inner circle and pass this garbage off as peer reviewed?

JH: Naw. Since the Wegman report came out nobody swallows that one anymore.

AG: Alright, why don’t we keep working on that “scientists in the pocket of big oil” thing?

JH: Doesn’t seem to have quite the same bite since I took the ketchup money and then was bought off by Soros as well.

AG: OK then, let’s keep running with the rising sea level angle?

JH: But AL, even grade twos have figured out how Greenland got its name.

AG: Polar bears, penguins, SUV’s, computers, sports cars?

JH: Been there, done that!

AG: Well then, why don’t we go back to those “hole in the ozone” scams we ran back in the 80’s?

JH: Good idea Al. There’s a whole new generation of suckers just sitting there waiting to have their pants taxed off!

What happened to the Professor? Did he get banned?

Don't know if you guys noticed it or not, but it seemed like his posts were being made by more than one person to me. The context, words used, etc just seemed to differ at times. Sometimes he made rational, albeit wrong arguments, while at other times he was downright juvenile in his arguments.

ckc1227....PT was possibly...

Prof. Truth was possibly a "Hillary" plant, similar to the rumor/suspicion that Oprah's Web site was suddenly swamped with anti-Oprah endorsement propaganda, and all the static Post/comments came from "Recent" newbies who just joined up on Sprah's Website.   Question raised was "Are these Hillary operatives ?" joining up highly visible Web sites to spread the Hillary message.

Lot of Posts about why Oprah was not endorsing the "First Woman" president, but was endosing Obama.

Professor Truth may have just been a Democratic Operative making the rounds.

Maybe it's Clinton trick paranoria, but it makes for interesting speculation.

Good Job Noel! One

Good Job Noel!

One question though...is "metaphysical certitude" your phrase of the month??

TM

TM,

Actually, metaphysical certitude is a John McLauglinism. He's been saying it for years.

It is interesting to me how readers pick up on such things, and, in some cases, fret about it. I've seen liberal bloggers carp and whine about me using variations of the word "disgrace," and we've recently gotten complaints about me writing "delicious" too frequently.

I guess since such folk can't dispute logic, repetitive catch phrases are the next best thing. :-)   ns

Isn't it just delicious

Isn't it just delicious that this gets under their skin?

They must be looking for red meat and the gravitas that eludes them.

"There is a clear attempt to establish truth not by scientific methods but by perpetual repetition."
- Richard S. Lindzen, Ph.D. Professor of Meteorology, MIT

Science has entered a down phase

Mainly because powerful people are using science and scientists as a political sheild to make as much money as possible. The UN has decided that they can use corrupted scientists to bludgeon money and technology from western nations and then give it to poor developing countries after they take their "cut". Thus the IPCC is really in the "climate protection racket" with thier spoksperson and consumate shakedown artist Al "tony soprano" Gore.

Boy, it sure wuld be a shame ifin somtin was ta happen to that nice climate ya got dere. Da debate is ovah, fugedaboudit.

The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic. Let's get it back! Alan Keyes '08.

The Anti "Man-Made" Global Warming Resource

Any bets on 2008

My gut tells me the bottom is falling out of this AGW stuff.  You have 400 scientists, willing to go on record in 2007, will there be more in 2008?  My guess is yes, since the computer models are being proven wrong, the science is being proven wrong and, horror of horrors, the climate doesn't seem to be cooperating with their irrational predictions.

Democrats: Specializing in "high tech lynching" since 1987.

I don't think it's going

I don't think it's going away. AGW believers need a band-wagon to jump on. Facts will always be irrelevant to them. And in 20 years when the world hasn't been destroyed, they'll praise themselves for saving it, despite all evidence to the contrary. GW is just the newest Y2K, only we don't have a deadline by which this hoax will expire. It won't go away, it makes them feel too good.

Wolf! Wolf!

The bottom has dropped out of their credibility. Average members of the public assume scientists and the UN are credible when they make pronouncements. Since science and the UN have seen fit to chuck their credibility in favor of attempting to induce mass hysteria, they will lose the ability to sway public opinion in the future just like the boy who cried wolf.

After being discredited and defunded, they won't be a big problem anymore. They will just huddle in their labs muttering to themselves and cursing at the CO2 fire extinguisher hanging on the wall.

Then there's the propaganda wing.

This little paragraph, was at the end of an article in the Palm Beach Post.  The article was credited to the NY Times (who else) and said the Associated Press contributed to this story.

"Carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels is the leading greenhouse gas, trapping the sun's heat in the atmosphere."

As long as the media can put false, unproven statements like that, in articles claiming they are fact, this will always be an uphill fight.

Democrats: Specializing in "high tech lynching" since 1987.

The sun's heat has been

The sun's heat has been trapped since the beginning of the earth's existence. And I'm sure glad it is, otherwise the day would be 200+ degrees and the night, when the heat isn't trapped, would be -100+.

Those were the figures one of the most recent astronauts said took place in just a few minutes in space when he was working on the space station solar panels. He said he gets warning from ground control as he's about to enter the sun's light, as well as when he's about to exit it so he can prepare his suit for the change that's about to take place.

I'm glad we don't have to wear the suit here on earth. Thank you, greenhouse effect.

Welcome to the age of Junk Science.

We've had Junk Food, Junk Bonds, Junk News, and now we have Junk Science.

Next up: Junk Money

1984

Statement from this article:"Many of the scientists featured in this report consistently stated that
numerous colleagues shared their views, but they will not speak out
publicly for fear of retribution. Atmospheric scientist Dr. Nathan
Paldor, Professor of Dynamical Meteorology and Physical Oceanography at
the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, author of almost 70 peer-reviewed
studies, explains how many of his fellow scientists have been
intimidated."

Statement issued today from Gore spokesperson: "After a quick review of the report, Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said
25 or 30 of the scientists may have received funding from Exxon Mobil
Corp. "

From George Orwell's, 1984: "The thought police would get him just the same. He had
committed—would have committed, even if he had never set pen to
paper—the essential crime that contained all others in itself.
Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could
be concealed forever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even
for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you. People simply
disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the
registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out,
your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were
abolished, annihilated: vaporized was the usual word."

Gore (fast becoming Big Brother) and the neo-Global-Warmers (aka, The Party, again, from 1984): The Party has taken early 20th century totalitarianism to new depths,
with each person subjected to 24 hour surveillance and where people's
very thoughts are controlled to ensure purity of the oligarchial system
in place. Figurehead of the system is the omnipresent and omnipotent
Big Brother.
