CNN, MSNBC Freak Over Trump’s ‘Cold Hearted’ DACA Decision: ‘Lives on the Line’

September 5th, 2017 5:16 PM

CNN and MSNBC journalists on Tuesday freaked out over Donald Trump’s decision to end DACA, deriding it as “cold hearted.” Talking to Sarah Huckabee Sanders at a White House briefing, an agitated Jim Acosta fussed at the way in which Barack Obama’s questionably constitutional program is being phased out: “Why did the President not come out and make this announcement himself today? Why did he leave it to his Attorney General? It's his decision. These kids, their lives are on the line because of what he's doing?”

Later, NBC/MSNC journalist Kristen Welker hyperventilated, “The President vowed to treat dreamers with, quote, 'great heart.' How is this move treating them with great heart?”

After not getting the right answer, she complained, “Dreamers, supporters of dreamers, say this is cold hearted. You're leaving the future of 800,000 people uncertain, up in the air. What’s your message to them?”

As noted in a NewsBusters flashback, journalists aided in Barack Obama’s 2012 executive order, touting illegals who “cheered” it.

On Tuesday’s morning shows, the networks decried Trump sparking an “immigration battle” and hailing a “blue-state backlash.”

A transcript of the two questions is below:

JIM ACOSTA: Why did the President not come out and make this announcement himself today? Why did he leave it to his Attorney General? It's his decision. These kids, their lives are on the line because of what he's doing?

KRISTEN WELKER: The President vowed to treat dreamers with, quote, great heart. How is this move treating them with great heart?

...

WELKER: The President's decision where all this stems from. Dreamers, supporters of dreamers say this is cold hearted. You're leaving the future of 800,000 people uncertain, up in the air. What’s your message to them?

SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS:  It's not cold hearted for the President to uphold the law. We are a nation of law and order. And the day that we start to ignore the fact that we are that, we throw away everything that gives these people a reason to want to come to our country.
