Politico Inadvertently Reveals Clinton Campaign Elitism

January 4th, 2016 4:46 PM

Almost nothing screams political elitism louder than holding a Clinton campaign fundraiser hosted by Chelsea at the Tribeca SoulCycle in Manhattan almost on the eve of the Iowa caucuses. The funniest thing about the Politico article describing the yoga pants Hillary supporters fundraiser is that author Annie Karni seems to be completely unaware of how politically damaging it appears as she gushes about the upcoming trendie event:

Busy New Yorkers can now donate to Hillary Clinton’s campaign without missing a workout — Chelsea Clinton is set to host a fundraiser for her mother’s campaign at the cult favorite spin studio SoulCycle.

On Jan. 27 at 2 p.m., Chelsea Clinton will headline the campaign's first exercise fundraiser at the Tribeca studio on Warren Street, according to an invite obtained by POLITICO. The sweaty fundraiser marks one of the former first daughter's first events on behalf of Hillary Clinton's campaign, and her role is expected to increase throughout the year.

The classes, popular with celebrities like Lady Gaga, Jake Gyllenhaal and Kelly Ripa, sell for $34 a pop for 45-minutes of riding. At the fundraiser, supporters who contribute $2,700 will be part of “Chelsea’s pack,” and entitled to a “premium reserved bike” and a photo with Chelsea Clinton. A limited number of tickets are also available for $1,000 or $500. “Senior master instructor” Laurie Cole, who has become a celebrity spin instructor and a friend of Chelsea’s, will lead the class, according to the invite. Hosts who raise $5,000 will also get an invitation to attend a future fundraiser with Hillary Clinton.

So will Hillary now be forced to use a spin doctor to explain to financially strapped Hawkeyes why a celebrity spin instructor is being used to raise campaign cash at a chic Manhattan exercise outlet? Meanwhile let us watch the sturdy Manhattanites "get the gloss" at SoulCycle in preparation for the Clinton fundraiser.
