HuffPo Denies Policy Change in Trump Coverage But Quickly Relapses

October 30th, 2015 2:00 PM

Last Monday your humble correspondent pointed out what was apparently a lapse in the absurd Huffington Post policy initiated in July to only cover Donald Trump on its Entertainment, not Politics, page. However, the Huffington Post denied to WND and Adweek that there was any such change in a policy which, the longer Trump remains in the lead, makes them look like a laughingstock for stubbornly hanging on to an obviously ridiculous policy which now serves no purpose other than to broadcast its bias. Here is the lame excuse provided by the Huffington Post to WND as to how the two Trump stories "slipped" by them and onto their Politics page:

These two items are blogs posts. HuffPost Bloggers post to the site themselves and select which vertical they would like their post to appear on. On Trump related blog posts, if politics is selected, a blog editor manually removes the post from politics, which is what’s been done here,” Stuart Whatley, blog editor, said in a statement.

Oh, I see. Those two Trump stories were written by bloggers. Of course, no Trump article written by a Huffington Post staffer could ever appear on its Politics Page. ...Except that is exactly what happened yesterday when an article chock full of Trump written by Huffington Post Associate Politics Editor Igor Bobic appeared on their Politics page. The title is "GOP Faces Uphill Climb With Latino Voters In Key Swing State Of Colorado" with a subtitle of "The Donald, and his anti-immigrant posturing, loom large." In fact, the original main title probably had Trump in it since the article URL is:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gop-latino-voters-colorado-trump_56329816e4b063179911d0a7?utm_hp_ref=politics

As if to give emphasis to the fact that this POLITICS PAGE article is most definitely about Trump there is even a click-thru box at the bottom of the article titled, " 9 Outrageous Things Donald Trump Has Said About Latinos."

In the spirit of that latter box, I will add "1 Outrageous Policy Huffington Post Made About Trump."

As time goes on and as Trump remains at the top of the contenders for nomination, the more ridiculous that Huffington Post policy is going to appear. I'm sure even many HuffPo staffers are already complaining about it since it no longer serves any purpose other than subject them to mockery. My advice is to just get it over with and publicly eat crow with an announcement that you made a horrible mistake and the policy has been revoked. And if you hear some laughter in the background while making that change, it is probably The Donald getting the last laugh. Now that's Entertainment!

And just for old times sake, let us once more read the Huffington Post Policy issued on July 17 that has become such a humiliating embarrassment:

After watching and listening to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president, we have decided we won't report on Trump's campaign as part of The Huffington Post's political coverage. Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section. Our reason is simple: Trump's campaign is a sideshow. We won't take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you'll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
