Huffington Post Suffers Case of Hurt Feelings Over Chappelle Criticizing Hillary

The Huffington Post seemed to have their panties in a twist after it got wind of some comments that comedian Dave Chappelle made during a stand-up show in New York this past Friday, even calling his routine “bizarre” because he voiced his displeasure with Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.

According to the New York Observer (which gives full disclosure prior to any article about its connection to the Trump since Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is its owner), Chappelle had some no so nice things to say about Clinton, such as:

  • Likening voting for her as “… a hypothetical situation of actress Halle Berry breaking wind in his face during sexual relations. “I’m still going to go for it,” he said. “But I wish she hadn’t done that thing.”
  • Referring to the infamous Trump and Billy Bush recording, “What I heard on that tape was gross,” Chappelle said. “But the way I got to hear it was even more gross. You know that came directly from Hillary.” He stated this had put him off a candidate he had already known was “not right.”
  • Taking issue with the fact that media said Trump committed sexual assault in the recorded conversation: “Sexual assault? It wasn’t. He said, ‘And when you’re a star, they let you do it.’ That phrase implies consent. I just don’t like the way the media twisted that whole thing. Nobody questioned it.”
  • Comparing Trump to the Terminator because of his “resilience” in the face of the leaked recording.

And what was probably the funniest line of all, when referring to Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz’s hostile questioning during the debate:

“Something about this was backward. A gay white man and a white woman asking a multi-billionaire how he knows the system is rigged and insisting it’s not. Does that sound right to you? It didn’t seem right to me.  And here’s how you know Trump is the most gangsta candidate ever. They asked him how he knows the system is rigged and he said, ‘Because I take advantage of it.’ He may as well have flashed his membership card for the Illuminati right then.”

The Huffington Post contends that  “it’s hard to really know what went down, since recording devices were not allowed,” and even goes after The Observer for “framing his (Chappelle’s) comments as pro-Trump,” with a headline reading “Dave Chappelle Defends Trump, Rips Clinton.”  The Observer, however, did mention Chappelle DID vote for Clinton prior to coming to New York, though he “didn’t feel good” about it.

Apparently in disbelief anything bad could be said about Clinton, the Huffington Post reached out to Chappelle’s team and stated, “Dave is disgusted by the tone of the election and especially by the idea that his comedy would be misconstrued to defend Trump.”

Conveniently, Chappelle is schedule to appear on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on November 12.
