MTV Awards Swoons Over ‘Extraordinary Example’ Maxine Waters, Gives Standing Oveation

Along with gender neutral acting performances and a gay kiss winning Best Kiss, the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards continued its downward spiral into a farce as the crowd gave far-left, scandal-ridden Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters (Calif.) a standing ovation to laud her as “an extraordinary example.”

Waters appeared alongside Tracee Ellis Ross from ABC’s Blackish and the crowd rose to its feet to cheer for Waters, with Ellis Ross bowing down to her and Daily Show host Trevor Noah among those wildly applauding Waters.

Once the applause subsided, Ellis Ross took to the microphone and sang Waters’s praises:

Yeah, okay. I will take this moment to go off script and say, Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Thank you. Thank you for your work. Thank you for your voice and how you use it and thank you for your being an extraordinary example for all of us, especially in these times.

For the record, Waters has been in Congress 1991 and represents California’s 43rd district out of Los Angeles that, according to Cook Partisan Voting Index, leans Democratic plus 26 percent.

Waters’s 26 years in Congress and dark blue district certainly doesn’t represent the entire country, but that’s way much for MTV, wacky liberal celebrities, and progressive millennials to stomach.

Further, Waters’s infamous record included lashing out at the George H.W. Bush administration during the 1992 L.A. Riots and suggesting the CIA purposefully fed crack to poor neighborhoods in order to pay the Contras. Therefore, she’s not exactly a keen source of insight and levelheadedness.

The shameless Waters took it all in. Eventually, Ellis Ross and Ross read the script before the nominees were announced for Best Fight Against the System (which went to the film Hidden Figures starring Taraji P. Henson:

DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSWOMAN MAXINE WATERS (Calif.): Artists, actors, singers and citizens have a unique opportunity; the ability to speak out and inspire change.

ELLIS ROSS: Honest, well-told stories lead to important discussions, lead to understanding, and can lead to a changed nation.

WATERS: Each of these stories pushes back against the bullies and uses their platform to inspire us all.
