New Victorians of the MSM: Palin's Daughter Having Child 'Out-of-Wedlock'

Photo of Mark Finkelstein.

Be grateful for small things.  Ann Curry didn't call Bristol Palin's baby "illegitimate" or a "bastard."  She settled for "out-of-wedlock."  Now in fairness, NBC's Curry was in theory listing things for which people might feel sympathy for Sarah Palin, including her own Down syndrome child.

But in doing so, speaking with Keith Olbermann during MSNBC's RNC coverage this evening, Curry said the following.

ANN CURRY: She has a child who is having a child out of wedlock.

View video here.

Out of wedlock?  How ineffably Victorian.  When's the last time Ann Curry used that phrase?  When's the last time you heard any MSMer use that phrase? Isn't the approved term "courageous single mother"? For that matter, by the time Bristol gives birth, she will presumably be married to the child's father. As a technical matter, whenever the baby was conceived, isn't Bristol "having" the child "in wedlock"?

Note: Bonus points to Ann for that classic convention pose of the reporter holding the headset to the ear to hear above the background noise.

The child ewill not be born

The child ewill not be born "out of wedlock." They are to be maried

Derry

I did point that out in the last line of the main item.

Sorry about that, Mark.

Sorry about that, Mark.  Your article made me so mad, I couldn't comprehend the last paragraph..

Mindsets

Any mindset that is not conservative is illegitimate. So is any human being who adopts these mindsets.

"My morality is your morality."

Oops! Curry undermines the Left's #1 sacrament!

ANN CURRY: She has a child who is having a child out of wedlock.

This quote undermines the central pillar of the Left's #1 sacrament:  Abortion.  They insist that a baby inside the mother is NOT a baby.  It's nothing more than a growth that can be gotten rid of, depending on the whims of the mother.  If she is "having a baby out of wedlock", then that means now, while she is unmarried and pregnant.  When the baby is actually born, she'll be married.  So what gives?  Shouldn't she say Palin's daughter is having a worthless bundle of cells out of wedlock?  How come these Leftists can never keep their stories straight?

Age limit?

I thought you had to be older than 17 to be nominated for V.P.?

PALIN/McCain 2008

LOL

LOL

I forgot can someone remind me...

Is Bristol Palin running for President? Is she running for Vice President? Because after the last few days and I was a foreigner I would make the assumption she is because of the coverage she is getting.

Yet theres a man named Tony Rezco that made shady land deals with an actual Presidential Canidate not getting mentioned. There is a Presidential Canidate who is great friends with a convicted domestic terrorist, a terrorist who wishes he would of done more damage. Barely a whisper.

There's a Presidential Canidate that has less experience than the aformentioned young woman's mother. Yet this is overlooked.

But hey I want to keep hearing about the one of the 750,000 teens that get pregnant in our country each year. It sure is news worthy.

My liberal wife keeps laughing at this pick. But I keep telling her it was smart. It has all you smimey libs in an uproar. She responded with "You know I go to the the woman doctor in a week to get my tubes tied." I said so. She said "Your party looks down on that but looks up to teen pregnancy"...I said "I know you're right, don't get them tied. We'll do what  your party does. Get pregnant and wait four to six months. Then we'll get a doctor to crush its skull and use baister to suck it from your womb"......She started crying and said thats not fair.

I just looked at her pointed out I just used her logic right back at her. Just like she when she commented on Palins experience and I pointed out that she has more exective experience than Obama. She said its different Obama's running for President.....the worst part......she didn't even realize the oxymoron that came from her own mouth.

Kudos to you for keeping your wife in line...

...I wonder what would happen if Sarah Palin was your wife...Definitely more kids for you to take care of while she's working long hours with all those wealthy lobbyists...just remember- happy wife, happy life! After my third one I figured I was better off as a lone wolf!Ubercon

See with my wife being alib in that situation..

I would kick my feet up and relax. If shee complained. I would reply "Thank your lib buddies. You all burned the bras not me"

Yes I am an Alpha male. And my wife has came out and admitted that is why she is attracted to me and loves me. I am different than all the other guys she has ever dated. What she doesnt' know is deep down inside she really just wanted a man...not a liberal boy.

Happily married to her for almost nine years.

Badass, I hand it to you.

Badass, I hand it to you. You got WAAY more guts than me. If I try to have a rational, "throw your logic back at you" argument with my woman, Global Warming is eliminated and we enter a new Ice Age.

I also get this "the media is doing so and so to point out Republican hypocrisy". I point out the "so and so" is hypocritical in the first place. She responds with "that's why the Republicans can't say anything". I feel like I'm having a perpetual "chicken and the egg" argument.

A gun in your hand beats a cop on the phone.

Here's what you do Kenny...

I never used to be that blunt. But this election I can't take it anymore. She plants her self infront of the three networks and listens. Then tries to talk to me about how Obama this and that, but McCain and Palin boo hoo. I point out all the bias. She says I'm lying...so I send her links from Drudge and the small articles from local newspapers....i.e Tony Rezco and William Ayers.

Anyway here's what you do. Wait for her to get on a liberal talking point. Let her get deeply involved. You listen intently analyzing what she is saying. Then when she is done you use what she said against her. Take something from her life. Plug it into her logic and twist it around. See if she argues against it. Then point out how she is being a hypocrite. It works wonders. I did it with taxes. (This one got me in big trouble, but I had the extra cash to get away with it) She said she was for higher taxes. I argued the point. She didn't get it. So I asked her to go for a ride. I went to the ATM took out the max of 300 dollars. I drove to where I could count on finding a bum. Got out of the car and gave the cash to the three dudes sleeping on the street. I then got back in the car and drove off. She was pissed. Said we didn't have the extra money to be giving it away. She said all they would do is buy liquer and drugs. I just looked at her and said thanks for proving my point on why higher taxes to help welfare wouldnt work.

BABuck, I love it. In my

BABuck, I love it.

In my case, Hell hath no fury like a woman out-argued. She also turns every argument into a personal insult. So if I win, then I must hate her. Normally I try not to go too deep, but sometimes it's "Damn the torpedoes".

When that happens, then I am the devil incarnate for days. I just try to avoid politics right now (difficult, as you might imagine).

My biggest irritation in all this is that she thinks she is a good arguer. I point out that she violates Dr. Phil's [gospel] advice on arguing at every turn, but she can't see it. My biggest peeve is that she can't "agree to disagree", but then claims that I try to browbeat her into submission.

Not sure that's how welfare

Not sure that's how welfare works, but it's a nifty anecdote.

You're right....

I should of found pregnant bums with ten kids running around.

Well, whatever belittles

Well, whatever belittles your wife's opinions most effectively, that's the way I'd go.

Belittling opinions....

Is far from it. I counter her arguments with highly effective statements and actions. Social welfare is being used to supplement drug hapits and alcholism. It's paying people to stay home and not work  but rather to procreate to keep the money coming. I didn't pass the law. Don't blame me. I know from first hand experience. My mother was on welfare and food stamps. Thank god she had her tubes tied while my parents were still married. But back then you didn't need to keep having kids to keep the entitlements coming. Either way...it taught me a valuable lesson on why liberalism is a failed experiment. Well.....Russia, Cuba, China, and now Venezuela are better examples.

Hey I'm all for domestic

Hey I'm all for domestic tranquility.

However she usually starts with first salvo like "Did you see where even Sarah Palin's mother-in-law doesn't think she's qualified for VP?". Then tries to play it off like she's just reporting the news.

Ahhh, Love...

Ahhh, Love...

Thanks to the idots in the

Thanks to the idots in the msm (they aren't all), this has got to be the most anticipated VP speech in history.

Yes but..

They will compare it to Obama's wife's speech. They will say how it doesn't stand up. It's not close. She is a buffoon. Burn her at the stake....she's a witch. and blah blah blah. We all know it.

she turn me into a newt!!

"You can not support the Troops if you do not support their Mission"

Question...

.. do you think that liberals would be sympathetic if she had an abortion? Or, had her mother aborted her and her four siblings?

I don't think so.

PALIN/McCain 2008

let's see ...

curry and her leftist colleagues believe gay marriage, abortion and trashing our country are rights of passage ... yet a young woman having a child "out of wedlock" raises eyebrows?

How many moonbat Hollywood

How many moonbat Hollywood stars do the media applaud for having their children "out of wedlock"? Do Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon ring a bell?

All of a sudden liberals are acting like shocked prudes. Like any moment they're going to faint from the vapors because a young, single girl got knocked up. Get the smelling salts!

Don't forget...

Jamie Lynn Spears...hero to all because she is going to be responsible for her actions.

And then we have Rep.

And then we have Rep. Barney Frank (openly gay) telling us that "family values" and therefore GOP families, are fair game. He can only say this because homosexuals are a protected species in the media.

Maybe we can start a dialog about the physical implications of being a gay male. The media will only allow discussion of "lifestyle". However a majority of Americans still consider these acts to be sexually deviant.

A gun in your hand beats a cop on the phone.

can we throw this word around some more.

Having a child who knows a child who is a child before she was a child while being childed.

   Owww. Where is the motrin?

my post about Jamie Lynn Spears got deleted

what's that about?

CRUCIFY THE MESSIAH ON NOVEMBER 4TH!!!!

Why don't we ask Obama's

Why don't we ask Obama's Mama about being pregnant before being married and see if it gets the same reactions and sneers?

This settles it. "The sooner the better" should be the strategy.

Bristol & boyfriend should fly back to Alaska via Las Vegas, where they should get off the plane, drive to that drive-thru wedding chapel (hopefully, it's still in business) and get married while never leaving the car. Hell, ideally they'd even elope. Then maybe sell the wedding photos to raise a bit of cash for their future baby, and hopefully the story ends there whether or not the media tries to keep covering it.

The tax & spend drug war looks racist in the real world.
