Sequel to Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' Announced: 'The Path to Survival'

You knew it was coming. It was only a matter of time. Al Gore is working on a sequel to his 2006 eco-ganda film "An Inconvenient Truth," which will be called "The Path to Survival" and released on April 22, 2008, otherwise known as Earth Day.

Global warming “deniers” may begin thinking of it as “An Inconvenient Truth 2: Non-Electric Boogaloo.”

But based on a September 5 AP article, it's not what you expect. It isn't even a film. It won't even be a hardback. Publisher Rodale Books said it will be released as a paperback original that is “(p)art-scientific manual, part expose, part visionary call for a new planet-wide political movement” and will offer “a visionary blueprint for the changes we should make as a world community.

Is the lack of plans for a movie further indication that the eco-hysteria surrounding Gore's day-long Live Earth concert raised more apathy and annoyance than awareness? Did the lackluster box-office and disinterest in Leo DeCaprio's “The 11th Hour” have something to do with the decision to not make the movie? It's likely that Gore is testing the water with this book, and if it does well, a movie will follow.

The AP served up Rodale's call to arms without question:

''He (Gore) explains how making bold choices now to protect our environment will also create new jobs, propel sustainable economic improvements, and inspire a new generation to tackle our most challenging issues with moral leadership,'' according to a statement issued Wednesday by Rodale.

''Part scientific manual, part expose, part visionary call for a new planet-wide political movement, the book will appeal to those who were motivated by the call to action of 'An Inconvenient Truth' and who are now ready to fight for the solutions that were considered politically impossible only a short time ago.''

Does that mean Gore will teach “a new generation” to stay green his way, by jetting around the world on private planes, owning big houses, throwing carbon-spewing concerts and eating red meat, which the UN said is a bigger contributor to anthropogenic global warming than SUVs?

Since this is considered a “scientific manual,” I fully expect some schools to follow the model set by “An Inconvenient Truth” and use this as a serious educational resource. Considering the problems that the original had with it's science, that isn't an encouraging thought.

Look for a giant carbon-emitting promotional tour to accompany the release.

The other shoe dropping?

Seems algore is intent on making this gw thing pay off for him. I wonder how much, according to this manual, going green is going to cost me. If you need me, I'll be hermetically sealing my wallet in preparation for the next earth day.

Sequel Stinkaroo?

Yet another "major" motion picture attack on science, reason and logic.  Great.

The picture of Gore makes him look like an angry carp sucking the muck looking for a buck.

Will someone please give the Global Warming Emperor his toga and a Caesar haircut.  Mr. DeMille is waiting for his screentest with Fred 'Brutus' Thompson.

Given my scenario, wouldn't it be more appropriate to open the movie on March 15th - the Ides of March?

Killing them with kindness isn't working.  Time to get scrappy with the Donkeys.

Gotta admit...great line, Mr. stratman.

The fault lies not with our stars, but with Us!

Personally, stratman, I

Personally, stratman, I think the appropriate release date for the book would be April 1, All Fool's Day. If the book does well, the movie should open exactly one year later. You know: April fool me once, shame on you. April fool me twice, shame on me.

Bob Rodale what have you wroght

I always liked Bob Rodale in the business he built in helping people learn about gardening and self suffiency. His work with amaranth (pig weed) as a crop for poor nations with poor soils was a great cause in feeding starving people by their own hands, but when he died in that plane wreck in Russia the entire Rodale empire fell to liberals dogma.

Organic Gardening was a wonderful gardening publication under Bob, but soon went to a thin glossy thing not even published all year and as you can see Rodale is now pushing stupidity in GlobAL Warming.

Why on earth these guys like Henry Ford and Bob Rodale build conservative established programs only to have on their deaths them turning into Soviet style Pravda machines is a mystery to me as one would think the family would safegaurd a legacy.

I have finished business with Rodale forever, like the University of Minnesovieta with Dr. Gore and U of Wisconsin and that Prof Galen Mckinley. These ilk want to fund communist propaganda it is their choice, but this Conservative is pulling all funding forever from their coffers.

  Hey Lame......    I

  Hey Lame......

I was a big organic gardener during the seventies and of course read all the issues of Organic Gardening.  This was way before being organic was a political statement.  In fact it was considered odd.  But on my 1/4 acre garden it just made sense.  I did it for the reasons Bob Rodale did it.  Healthy soil=healthy garden=healthy food.

...oh and I don't like Al's new book.  (I have to say something to stay on topic..shhh)

Environmentalism=Neo-Communi

Environmentalism=Neo-Communism.  It has all the ingredients of the established Communism with out the pointing of a rifle...yet.  These people are every bit as radical as their spiritual leaders Marx,  Trotsky,  Lenin.

I do suppose that if it came down to it they would try to force their environmental views at the point of a gun but that's just my opinion.  I would not be surprised.

I still read Organic Gardening and have since it was a small sized magazine to the "glossy" style now.  I just disregard the BS, so to speak...BTW did you know Robt Rodales daddy died on live television?  I believe it was the Dick Cavett show.

Ouch!

Looks like it's straight to video, Al!  May you find as much success as Leonardo DiCaprio!

Praise Gore

for he hath given us a new testament to follow his first!

I can't wait for the movie

I can't wait for the movie sequel to come out. I'm sure it will better than "Weekend at Bernie's II", however the guy who played the corpse probbly should have received an Oscar before Gore did.

Hmmm, I can see it now, part three in the trilogy titled "Suckers: How a Failed Presidential Candidate Succeeded in Fleecing the World", also known by the international version with the shorter title "Cha-ching!".

Lynn breaking out the humor

“An Inconvenient Truth 2: Non-Electric Boogaloo.”

Lynn, way to breakout the humor.  "Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo" won lots of awards didn't it?  Wasn't Ice-T in that movie?  That was like 84 or 85 if I'm not mistaken.

Hey Lynn I have that "Feel for You" by Shaka Khan song stuck in my head now as that song was out about the same time that movie was out.  People sure were cool back then weren't they?

"Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo"

Wikipedia I don't think "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" won any thing other than a permanent place in pop culture infamy. Yes, Ice T was in both the original and sequel.

Hey Lynn I have that "Feel for You" by Shaka Khan song stuck in my head now as that song was out about the same time that movie was out.  People sure were cool back then weren't they?

Well, we all thought we were pretty cool witht the Members Only jackets, parachute pants and giant hair. "Feel For You" is a good song; there could be worse ones to get stuck in your head.

"Feel For You" is a good

Yeah there sure are.  I have to retire for the evening, but just remember "It's A Small World After All".

"Global" Warming : Global Myth

Higher than normal temperatures for 10 (or even 30) days out of the year in only 5% of the cities on the earth is NOT "global" warming.

And what about the record cold temperatures being set every year around the globe ... why aren't globalwarmingtologists reporting THOSE anomalies? If it's global WARMING then why are record COLD temperatures being set from Siberia to Europe to the Yukon to Antarctica?

Start Shinin' Up Another One

No matter what a flaming bag of crap this movie turns out to be, rest assured they'll give Al another Oscar for it.  The big controversy will be whether to give it to Gore or DiCaprio.

I'd also put money on Al's #1 sycophant, Cameron Diaz, being in Al's movie.  Maybe she'll play the part of a tree.  Of course, she'd need to take acting lessons first.

Global Warming : The Biblical Perspective

Let's start here :

1 Timothy 6:20-21

(20) O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

(21) Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

The Bible warns of science that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

Now let's go here :

Ephesians 4:14

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

In 1974 the scientific elite were worried about global cooling and the next ice age.

Here :

Psalms 47:9

The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

The shields of earth belong unto God ... He isn't going to allow global catastrophe happen to Man. How gargantuan is the ego of Man - of a man - to think that global salvation rests with him and not God?

And here :

Genesis 9:12-17

(12) And God said, "This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

(13) I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

(14) And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

(15) And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

(16) And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth."

(17) And God said unto Noah, "This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth."

The promise of the rainbow goes beyond forbidding a flood to ever cover the earth again - it is a promise that God will never allow global catastrophe to overrun the earth again ... He will never allow the Devil and the imprisoned spirits to exact their will on Man ever again.

God Says, Al Gore Says

Al Gore says, "Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced."

God says ...

Genesis 8:22

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Cold and heat - temperature fluctuations, summer and winter shall not cease ... gee whiz, I guess we aren't sitting on a ticking time bomb.

Ecclesiastes 11:4

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Worrying about the "global" temperature is a one-way ticket to being a perpetual busybody.

Sovereign God

All the Owl Gores are denying the sovereignty of the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob when they start spouting their propganda. God, in his infinite wisodm, is not going to allow more people on this earth than it can sustain. Secondly, He said that He would destroy the earth, not man.

"I'd also put money on Al's #1 sycophant, Cameron Diaz, being in Al's
movie. Maybe she'll play the part of a tree. Of course, she'd need to
take acting lessons first."

And, with a little more book learnin', she could almost be half as smart as one.

I wonder how many trees will

I wonder how many trees will have to be sacrificed for this book.

Maybe Algore's having it

Maybe Algore's having it written on recycled toilet paper?

Should be plenty left over since the AGW kooks only use one sheet.

In a sane world, this new

In a sane world, this new film would be classified as Fiction. But since a lot of folks are doing everything they can to ignore God, I suspect it will sell like hotcakes in hell.

D. James Kennedy did wonderful work in debunking the AGW theories. Well our loss is God's gain. Gonna miss him.
