As part of his opening remarks during the highly anticipated House Intelligence Committee hearing with acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire Thursday, chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) read from a transcript of President Trump’s call with the president of Ukraine. The only problem was; he was making it up with the goal of dramatizing it into a mafia-style shakedown. And, while the broadcast networks were busy pushing the narrative of a White House cover-up, they ignored Schiff’s wild tale.

During his decades-long career, Jim Carrey has gone from being a popular comedian and movie star to a rabid liberal who thinks "half the country" is "cheering the locomotive that will kill them. He has diverted his creative energy into the political arena to bash his favorite target: President Donald Trump, as well as other people in the Republican Party.

On Sunday, Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina shut down Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan when she implied that he was partially responsible for the current disunity in Washington.

Just think, this is who MSNBC considers to be one of its best and brightest Republicans. On Tuesday’s Hardball, political analyst and 2008 McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt tore into Republican questions about the FISA memo and Strzok-Page texts as “snake oil” “McCarthyism” being “abetted” by the Fox News Channel serving as “state-run TV in an autocratic society.”

On Wednesday's New Day on CNN, it was another case of Philip Mudd going over the top into violent imagery against a Republican official as the CNN counterterrorism analyst declared that South Carolina Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy "ought to have his a** kicked" for asking former CIA Director John Brennan if he had seen "evidence" of the Donald Trump campaign colluding with Russia. Last December, Mudd notably flew off the handle about then-RNC official Sean Spicer as he proclaimed that he would like to "jump through the TV" and "take him behind the shed," tearing into Spicer as "someone who doesn't know his a** from a hole in the ground."

No stranger to being the topic of discussion on the pages of NewsBusters, MSNBC writer and Rachel Maddow Show producer Steve Benen was at it again on Friday as he bemoaned the House Select Committee on Benghazi as the “longest congressional investigation in the history of the United States” despite even liberal sites like Politifact debunking this talking point.

Instead of going on a tirade against Donald Trump or the horrors of ISIS, TBS’s Full Frontal host Samantha Bee chose to resume her vile attacks on conservatives with her latest show on Monday night featuring video of an elephant pooping to describe Republicans elected in the 2010 midterms. Specifically, Bee dubbed Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy (S.C.) as the “Benghazi queen” and the House Freedom Caucus as “wild-eyed tea party kamikazes” whose “mission” has been “to block the cock of democracy.”

CNN’s heavily-promoted Democratic presidential town hall finally aired Monday night from Iowa and while they featured a number of questions that challenged Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders, there were plenty of questions that skewed to the left as well a cushy softballs. Host Chris Cuomo to Bernie Sanders: "What does it mean to you about what your parents would think if they saw you now?"

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, moderator Chuck Todd hit House Benghazi committee chairman Trey Gowdy over his questioning of Hillary Clinton last week, specifically over the subject of Sidney Blumenthal. The NBC News Political Director asked Gowdy “[y]ou had made a promise that you were keeping the focus on Benghazi. Do you feel as if you did as much or -- even some Republicans were wondering why you were going down the Sidney Blumenthal -- what some called a rabbit hole.”

Suddenly worried about government spending, the Thursday edition of ABC’s World News Tonight featured anchor David Muir complaining on three separate occasions about the cost of the House Select Committee on Benghazi while chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl observed that Republicans “really didn’t succeed” in “draw[ing] blood” from Hillary Clinton.

Offering no surprises, Thursday’s NBC Nightly News aired glowing remarks for Hillary Clinton’s performance during the House Select Committee on Benghazi hearing with conclusions that she “stood her ground” as it “dissolved into bickering” while she “stayed above the fray” and removing Benghazi from being an issue in the 2016 campaign.

Reacting to the first round of questioning in Thursday’s Benghazi hearing, CNN hosts and panelists couldn’t help but trip over themselves in gushing over how Hillary Clinton was “very confidence” in “keeping her cool” while answering “utterly baffling” questions about confidante Sidney Blumenthal that the American people supposedly do not “really care about” and see as “a waste.”
