Over the past three years CNN has branded itself as the network that is fearless in its drive to speak truth to power and that is unafraid to call an apple and apple and a banana a banana. Unless that power be a Democrat, then it as if they are walking on eggshells, as CNN Newsroom co-host Poppy Harlow illustrated on Wednesday as she interviewed Symone Sanders, press secretary for the Biden campaign.
All kinds of Democrats said it, so why not their allies in the media? I’m speaking here of the media chorus that insisted — insisted — that what President Trump, in an Oval Office address to the nation in January called a “humanitarian crisis” at the border — was in fact nothing more than a “manufactured crisis.”
Though it wasn’t quite to the same level of obsession that we saw with Hillary Clinton, her Chipotle stop, and her Scooby Doo van, the liberal media were still enthralled Thursday with former Vice President Joe Biden finally launching his 2020 presidential bid. And CNN was there providing more than enough moments with a few coming in a segment on CNN Newsroom gushing about his aviators, his supposed authenticity, and his hire of their CNN colleague Symone Sanders.
As those on Twitter have probably seen by now, CNN eventually started allowing conservatives on their airwaves by the late Thursday afternoon hours after the release of the Mueller report and Mary Katharine Ham didn’t waste the chance to own more than a few libs and their “operation in gaslighting” maintaining Trump’s guilt. And in contrast to Ham’s masterful takedown, liberal CNN political commentator Symone Sanders lashed out by suggesting that, if America had a real “justice system,” the President would be arrested.
Despite the esoteric nature of anonymously-sourced reports about how “some” of “Mueller’s team” aren’t pleased with Attorney General Barr’s letters on the Mueller report, liberal media types have used the stories to imply Barr has been lying about the report’s findings on collusion and obstruction of justice. This nonsense shined brightly on Thursday’s The Lead as CNN political commentators Kirsten Powers and Symone Sanders did just that.
CNN Newsroom presented a predictable reaction to President Trump’s Saturday afternoon remarks that offered a compromise to Democrats on immigration and government shutdown, blasting Trump’s speech as “inflammatory” filled with “misinformation and scare-mongering tactics” trying to still make “Trump’s little racist wall” happen.
It’s a new year, so CNN media reporter Brian Stelter decided to dedicate a lot of Sunday’s Reliable Sources (the first episode of the year) to starting things off on the right foot by trying to improve the liberal media’s trust with the public. Unfortunately, he was only interested in improving it with only half the country. The left half to be precise. Throughout the program, he queried his ample supply of liberal panelists to understand how the media could improve in their eyes going into 2020 and beyond.
Despite the fact that Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp held a lead outside the threshold needed for a runoff, Democrats and the liberal media were not conceding the state’s gubernatorial election. During CNN’s Election Night in America in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, CNN political analyst April Ryan was in hysterics as she pushed conspiracies of voter suppression, even going so far as to say voting right didn’t exist anymore.
Judge Brett Kavanaugh came out swinging against Senate Democrats during Thursday’s show trial at the Senate Judiciary Committee. He was angry and pulled no punches as he called out the bad faith actors trying to destroy his life. But to CNN liberals, he was acting “unhinged” and his comments were “deeply political”.
During Wednesday’s edition of The Lead, the panel found itself in a little bit of shock after learning that President Trump had revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan, who has previously called President Trump treasonous in his new capacity as an NBC News analyst.
On Wednesday’s edition of New Day, co-host John Berman conducted a segment on the future of the Democratic Party with former press secretary for Bernie Sanders, Symone Sanders, and former Hillary Clinton campaign manager, Robby Mook. The segment was based on former FBI Director James Comey’s tweet warning Democrats not to “rush to the socialist left” in reaction to Trump. Berman asked Sanders if Comey had a point. And her response proved his concern.
On Thursday's CNN Tonight, the show not only repeated the debunked myth that the Trump administration treats illegal immigrant children worse than the Obama administration did, but even one of CNN's right-leaning analysts added to the media myth that legal asylum seekers have their children separated from them without making the distinction that those who enter the country legally typically are not separated. The liberal news network notably ignored DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen's trip to Guatemala earlier this week in which she implored asylum seekers to enter the U.S. through legal ports of entry so that they receive better treatment, rather than cross the border illegally.
