Sounds like some comedians are finally starting to notice that their bread and butter may be at stake. On Friday, comedian and Adam Sandler sidekick Rob Schneider took to twitter to defend fellow comics Kevin Hart and Louis C.K., who have been recently put in the doghouse for their un-PC jokes. Regardless of whether you’re willing to defend either comedians, you have to admit that Schneider made some good points about outrage culture.
The reviews are in, and they’re ugly. Comedienne Michelle Wolf’s performance at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner drew scorn from both sides of the aisle. Conservatives were understandably aghast at Wolf’s vicious brand of humor.
It’s rare to see someone in Hollywood go after their own kind, but one comedian is unafraid to do just that. This week, Saturday Night Live alumnus Rob Schneider took to his Twitter account to troll Democrats for blaming everything but Hillary Clinton on her election loss. Schneider didn’t leave any liberal scapegoat behind, from Russia to “fake news,” to sexism claims.
Movie star, comedian, and “Saturday Night Live” alumnus Rob Schnieder announced he was switching to the Republican Party in an interview with Anne-Marie Murrell of the website Politichicks.tv.
“The state of California is a mess,” Schneider declared, “and the supermajority of Democrats is not working. I’ve been a lifelong Democrat and I have to switch over because it no longer serves the people of this great state. We need to have a new voice. We need to have a new direction, and we need to break the supermajority. It isn’t helping with jobs.”
