Instagram has gone to war with meme pages. The reason why is unclear. “Instagram seems to have purged most of the top meme accounts on the platform,” according to Insider.  Reports indicate that pages with hundreds of thousands to millions of followers were suddenly purged on July 25 and 26. YouTuber and free speech advocate Tim Pool theorized in his video “The Great Meme PURGE Is Upon Us, Instagram BANNED 30+ Accounts” that this may be a calculated move ahead of the 2020 election.

The attack on the conservative internet has reached a new low. Poynter, the journalism institute responsible for training writers and reporters, decided to promote a left-wing smear of conservative groups online. The result was a hit job written by someone who works for the anti-conservative Southern Poverty Law Center for a journalism organization funded by prominent liberal billionaires such as George Soros and Pierre Omidyar.

The decision by the “mainstream media” to run a salacious and unsubstantiated article regarding President-elect Donald Trump that was first posted on the BuzzFeed website has drawn extensive criticism, including accusations that this choice is “the media's latest self-inflicted wound” and “irresponsible journalism.” Those accusations were made on Tuesday by James Warren, the chief media writer for the Poynter Institute website and former managing editor and Washington Bureau chief for the Chicago Tribune and the New York Daily News.

A new fact-checking organization is set to launch in October 2015, but it turns out a liberal billionaire is behind it and footing most of the bill.

Poynter Institute, a journalism education organization, announced in July that it would be creating a new International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) this year, headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida. On Sept. 21, Poynter announced its appointment of Alexios Mantzarlis as director and editor for IFCN. Mantzarlis is the former managing editor of Italy’s leading fact-checking website Pagella Politica.

The media are furious.

The Poynter Institute, which keeps an eye on all things journalistic, is maintaining a list of media people and institutions who have decided they are so enraged by the idea of calling the Washington Redskins the …well, you know..….that they will no longer participate in this heinous practice.
