March for Life
The big three networks gave just 28 seconds Friday night and Saturday morning to the largest pro-life annual march in the nation’s capital, this year. While it’s not out of the ordinary for the media to ignore this mammoth event that flies in the face of their liberal narrative on abortion, it is notable that they would hold a near blackout of the event even when President Trump became the first sitting President to attend in the 47 year history of the march.
Just in time for the March For Life, another celeb-driven pro-abortion PSA has been making the rounds on social media, with the message that more Americans than ever are okay with killing babies. Take that, March For Life supporters.
While television networks largely celebrate abortion, it’s worth noting that a celebration of life is taking place, with the annual March for Life on January 24. Whether networks will finally give these peaceful pro-lifers their due in media coverage, after for years neglecting them, remains to be seen. Meanwhile, liberal television networks, from news shows, to actress spokespersons, to television dramas, continue to promote abortion to the public.
The liberal media were disheartened Monday after Planned Parenthood announced it would take a roughly $60 million hit to its funds just so they could carry out more abortions. The new Title X rule put out by the Trump administration bars clinics from referring patients for abortions. CBS Evening News was so distraught that they kicked off their evening programming with the story.
It’s almost cliché in pro-life circles that on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade for coming close to 50 years, hundreds of thousands of people march for life, and almost no one in the media can see them. Like Pro-Life Ninjas, they move in and out of the nation’s capitol undetected … until a teenager with a “Make America Great Again” hat was faced with a reality of political life today, the professional protestor causing agitation while fellow activists filmed attempts to cause a media moment. And it worked, at least at first, as many rushed to judgment.
Between Saturday evening and Monday morning, NBC, ABC and CBS devoted a stunning 19 minutes 5 seconds to falsely accusing teenagers who participated in the March for Life of racism following a confrontation with left-wing activists. That was after the broadcast networks only managed to provide a pathetic 58 seconds of coverage to Friday’s annual demonstration protesting the Supreme Court’s 1973 decision legalizing abortion.
Despite what was a much delayed but important avalanche of headlines about the group’s anti-Semitism, Saturday’s Women’s March still received nearly 15 times the broadcast network newscast coverage of the 47th annual March for Life that was held Friday. Between Wednesday morning and Saturday evening, the Women’s March fetched 14 minutes and 26 seconds of coverage on the ABC, CBS, and NBC morning and evening newscasts. This stood in stark contrast to just 58 seconds for the March for Life.
The annual pro-life rally March for Life took to the streets of Washington, D.C. Friday, and the New York Times acknowledged it -- barely: Reporter Eileen Sullivan's “March for Life Holds Its Rally In Quiet Capital.” Sullivan seemed to work to put a negative spin on the day’s march in her brief story of 330 words. Not even a taped address from the president, and the live presence of the vice president and his wife, could attract more prominent coverage. She didn’t bother mentioning any of the march speakers, including prominent conservative activist Ben Shapiro.
ABC, NBC and CBS’s morning news shows all ignored the 46th annual March for Life happening today in Washington D.C.,the largest pro-life gathering in the nation where an estimated 100,000 people are expected to show up to protest the legalization of abortion. Even as President Trump is expected to address the crowd via video for the second year in a row, the liberal networks still couldn’t find time to report on the march.
Here’s a nice gift for the tens of thousands of Americans attending the 46th annual March for Life today: A three-judge panel of the of the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals vacated a Texas judge’s ruling in favor of Planned Parenthood against the State of Texas.
The wait is almost over for Hollywood’s big Roe v. Wade film as an exclusive first look has been released online. The teaser, unveiled on Monday, features some new details about the film including the fact that Hollywood conservative superstar Jon Voight will be portraying Supreme Court Justice Warren Burger. The trailer is also set to have a grand unveiling for the crowds at this Friday’s annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.
Two different marches claim to voice America’s youth and boast youthful crowds – but that doesn’t mean they’re treated the same by the liberal media.
