Recently, firearms manufacture Colt declared that they will be suspending consumer sales of their classic AR-15 rifle citing “significant” competition in the modern sporting rifle market. Of course, once the liberal media learned of this, they took a victory lap of sorts on Thursday. Both ABC and CBS highlighted Colt’s decision, with the former seemingly making up a quote from Colt’s CEO.
During Monday’s CBS Evening News, floundering new anchor Norah O’Donnell touted a report by correspondent Jeff Pegues as a “fact-check” of the President’s claim that Baltimore was a city “no human being would want to live”. A “fact-check” that failed miserably.
John Walker Lindh, “The American Taliban” was released from prison three years early for “good behavior” Thursday, despite evidence that he still clung to his jihadist ways. When news of his imminent release broke earlier in the week, the liberal media rightly condemned it. But a peek into the Media Research Center’s vast archives showed that the media was overly concerned for his well-being at the hands of the George W. Bush administration.
Despite interviews earlier in the week with two women accusing Virginia’s Democratic Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault, on Thursday, CBS This Morning worried that holding a public hearing on allegations would “just be a political stunt” by state Republicans. The report also took time to tout Fairfax passing polygraph tests when asked about the claims.
There was a lot of winning for the United States this week between the release of three American hostages from North Korea, unemployment at 3.9 percent, and on Thursday news broke that the U.S. had captured five of ISIS’s top leaders. But depending on which of the major network news outlets you watch, you may not have heard about the captured leaders. CBS Evening News was the only member of the big three networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) to even mention it that evening. The national evening newscasts of Spanish-language Univision and Telemundo also kept quiet about it.
Eager to tear down another one of President Trump’s nominees, on Monday, all three network morning show’s seized on a Washington Post article claiming that the President’s nominee to be CIA Director, Gina Haspel, considered withdrawing over the weekend, before her upcoming Senate confirmation hearing. Hosts and correspondents breathlessly hyped the story and worried about Haspel’s role in the enhanced interrogation of terror suspects after 9/11.
The liberal media don’t appear to show any signs of whiplash due to their wild love/hate relationship with former FBI Director James Comey. He was obviously still in their good graces Thursday evening with the three major network news outlets (ABC, CBS, and NBC) and Spanish-language network Univision hyping reported excerpts from his soon to be released book A Higher Loyalty. The three touted how Comey “blasted” President Trump for being “unethical” and his apparent apology to Hillary Clinton.
On Wednesday, word leaked out that the FBI’s Inspector General’s office was recommending former deputy director Andrew McCabe be fired for misleading their investigators who were looking into the handling of the Clinton e-mail investigation. The report hasn’t been made public yet but it comes as the Trump administration was experiencing numerous firings. While ABC, CBS, and NBC had previously hyped such firings, NBC ignored this one as ABC spent more time worried about McCabe’s pension.
During CBS’s live coverage of the deadly school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, Homeland Security correspondent Jeff Pegues showed his liberal bias by peddling dubious statistics from the far-left gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety without vetting their credibility or citing their leftist tilt.
Since the House Intelligence Committee, chaired by Congressman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), voted on Monday to release a memo detailing alleged misconduct and legal abuses by the FBI, the three major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have been acting like the mouthpiece for the Democratic Party. Between January 29, when the vote was held, and February 1, the networks dedicated roughly three and a half times the coverage to worries about releasing the memo than the allegations against the FBI than its purported contents.
The FBI was caught off guard Monday when Deputy Director Andrew McCabe decided to kick off his retirement early and resigned his post with little fanfare. Speculation swirled over why he chose that day to call it quits but the liberal networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) decided only one person was really to blame: President Trump and his desire to obstruct justice. That despite the fact that other close sources cited a harsh Inspector General investigation report coming down the pike.
In a recent closed-door testimony to the House Intelligence Committee which was leaked, former Donald Trump bodyguard Keith Schiller destroyed one of the more salacious parts of the Clinton/DNC-funded dossier, regarding Trump and Russian prostitutes. Despite Schiller shooting down the rumors, both ABC and CBS spent Thursday evening speculating about the debunked accusations as if there was something to them.
