Comedy Central is out with a new adult animated comedy called Legends of Chamberlain Heights that airs on Wednesday nights after South Park. The show is about three freshman basketball bench warmers - Grover, Milk, and Jamal - and their antics in their quest to become “legends" at their high school. The result is quite possibly the most disgustingly foul-mouthed, outrageously offensive, obnoxiously over-the-top, and purposefully inappropriate show I've ever seen.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Thursday that Joshua Williams "was sentenced ... to eight years in prison for starting a fire at a QuikTrip in Berkeley (a St. Louis suburb) after an officer-involved shooting there." The Dispatch apparently didn't think it important to tell readers that the crime spree which occurred after that shooting took place despite the fact that the suspect had pulled a gun on that officer.

I noted in a NewsBusters post a year ago that Williams' arrest on charges of "1st degree arson, 2nd degree burglary and misdemeanor theft," and his confession "to setting fires at the store in a videotaped interview" constituted a major establishment press embarrassment. You see, until then, outfits like the New York Times, MSNBC and others had, in the words of Ryan Lovelace at National Review, "depicted him as a hero of the summer protests" in Ferguson, Missouri.

Since the announcement of Nelson Mandela's death Thursday, the media have been in a virtual wall to wall tribute to his life and legacy. Yet not everyone thinks they're painting an accurate picture of the man.

Quite the contrary, Cornel West told CNN's Jake Tapper Friday, "We are witnessing the Santa Clausification of Nelson Mandela" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Further proof that purported academic and occasional hip-hop recording artist Cornel West has no intention of ever again being taken seriously.

On the weekend podcast he shares with Tavis Smiley, West talked about the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., which occurred 50 years ago yesterday. (Audio after the jump)

MRCTV's Dan Joseph attended the very sparsely attended "Million Muslim March" on the mall in Washington on September 11 and found most of the people there were 9-11 truthers. Left-wing professor (and alongside Tavis Smiley, public radio talk show co-host) Cornel West was there, so Joseph asked him, "Do you believe personally that it was Muslims that attacked us on 9/11?"

West replied, "That’s a good question." Joseph shot back, "But not a hard question." West then proceeded to play around with being "open to conversation" about alternate theories of who killed all those Americans (video below):

Cornel West had some harsh comments for MSNBC's Al Sharpton and Michael Eric Dyson Friday.

Early in the radio show "Smiley and West," West said of the previous day's commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington, "We saw of course the coronation of the bonafide house negro of the Obama plantation, our dear brother Al Sharpton, supported by the Michael Dysons and others who’ve really prostituted themselves intellectually in a very ugly and vicious way" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

[UPDATED BELOW] CNN showed a complete double standard by smacking Republican Allen West for his "plantation" remarks while giving liberal Cornel West a pass for the same offense.

On Tuesday morning, anchor Carol Costello played a clip of West decrying the "21st century plantation" for blacks and suggested that such a statement hurt the GOP's minority outreach. However, when liberal Cornel West ripped the "Obama plantation" and said Al Sharpton was its "head house Negro" on Sunday's New Day, neither CNN co-host called him on it.

What a surprise -- one of President Obama's biggest critics from way over on the left is also no big fan of his administration's main apologists in media, MSNBC.

Author, activist and Princeton professor Cornel West let loose with some pointed criticism of the cable network on his weekend radio show with Tavis Smiley. (Audio after the jump).

Professor and activist Cornel West made a comment Friday evening guaranteed to anger people on the left.

In an HBO Real Time discussion about the use of drones, after calling the current President a “war criminal” for killing innocent civilians, West observed that most liberals are “morally bankrupt” because they’d condemn George W. Bush for doing this but refuse to voice opposition to Barack Obama (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Hearty perennial crank and occasional academic Cornel West continues his scorned lover's feud with the president.

West is one of Obama's most vociferous critics on the left, previously having condemned Obama as a "war criminal," a "Republican in blackface," and unworthy of being sworn into office with Martin Luther King Jr.'s Bible. (Audio after the jump)

Are liberal African-American pundits still blindly loyal to Barack Obama? Though you may not see this covered on MSNBC, there IS a growing division.

Case in point: Establishment Suck-Up Al Sharpton versus Tavis Smiley and Dr. Cornel West. While the former spends every broadcast moment lashing out at those who dare to question the Dear Leader, Smiley & West take a different approach, holding Obama to a higher standard. As you'll see below, the difference is clear.

That's right -- not just Nixon ... Nixon and Bush. Can vilification from the left get much worse than that?

Cornel West continues to demonstrate why parents might want to think better of sending their children to Princeton, where West purportedly teaches when he isn't gushing over hip-hop and engaging in arcane rants over the airwaves. (audio clips after page break)
