In recent years, Georgia has become something of a second home for Hollywood as the state has opened itself up to filmmakers. But ever since the state took a stand to defend the lives of the unborn, the liberal elites on the other side of the country have demanded Georgia bend to their will or face a boycott. The CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News not only hyped the boycott Thursday, but they also touted that their parent companies might join in.
As the last Planned Parenthood clinic in Missouri battled the state to renew its license, the liberal broadcast networks rushed to the defense of the organization during their main Tuesday evening newscasts. While they decried the momentum of pro-life legislation, then neglected to answer the “why” portion of why the license was in jeopardy.
Amidst numerous states across the country passing pro-life legislation to protect the unborn, NBC News decided to send medical correspondent Dr. John Torres to a Planned Parenthood clinic in Missouri to provide abortion doctors at the facility a national media platform to denounce such measures.
Apparently, the folks at NBC News are gluttons for punishment. During Monday’s edition of NBC Nightly News, the news organization boosted claims made by lawyer and proven huckster, Michael Avenatti that shoe giant Nike was bribing high school athletes to go to schools with Nike deals. NBC treated the claims as serious while downplaying the federal extortion charges against Avenatti for allegedly trying to shakedown Nike for over $20 million.
On Monday morning, NBC’s Today show and CBS This Morning read from the same liberal script as reporters on both networks hyped exaggerated predictions in a new government climate change study. Amid all the fearmongering, correspondents hammered “deniers” like President Trump for not forcing dramatic reductions in fossil fuel emissions.
Ahead of Pope Francis visiting Ireland in the coming days, NBC’s Today show offered a nasty hit piece on the Catholic Church that cheered the nation moving left on issues like gay marriage and abortion. The segment also highlighted liberal critics of the Church rooting for the religious institution’s demise.
Appearing on MSNBC on Thursday, NBC Chief Environmental Affairs Anne Thompson blasted the Trump administration for proposing a possible rollback of Obama-era environmental regulations, warning that such a policy shift would “put more of the emissions into the atmosphere that fuel climate change” and spark “an environmental civil war.”
On Friday’s Today show, NBC correspondent Anne Thompson seized on a story being promoted by New York Democrats about an illegal immigrant being arrested and on the verge of deportation for having an outstanding federal warrant. Rather than acknowledge that immigration law was being properly enforced, the reporter denounced the “controversy,” “anguish,” and “nightmare” caused by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement action.
Since canceling ratings-powerhouse Roseanne on Tuesday, ABC and Disney have been under tremendous fire for even hiring Roseanne Barr given her long history of racism and unhinged antics. And in a tweet Wednesday, President Trump called out the company’s double standard of keeping on other such people but who target him. Instead of keeping their head down and taking their lumps, ABC actually complained about the White House pointing out their double standard.
It took former Democratic New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman three hours to resign Monday night after accusations arose alleging he would violently strike his girlfriends without their consent. But throughout ABC World News Tonight’s two minutes and 21 seconds report on the situation, there was not a single mention of the fact that he was an elected Democrat. In contrast, both CBS and NBC noted that important detail.
To the left, climate change is no longer a partisan issue; it’s merely a question of believers versus heretics. Perhaps that is why NBC felt justified in airing a Sunday Nightly News segment bursting at the seams with praise for liberal Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (RI), whom NBC chief climate change correspondent Anne Thompson lauded as “part teacher, part Don Quixote.”
Fearing that America was one step closer to becoming a theocracy with the opening of the privately-funded Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C., on Thursday and Friday, CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today hyped the supposed “controversy” swirling around the institution, even claiming that a “cloud of suspicion” hung over the building as it opened its doors.
