As if the past week hasn’t been tough enough on liberals, Trevor Noah -- the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show -- decided on Thursday evening to join the chorus of voices slamming President Trump, whom he accused of “giving America judicial herpes.” Noah didn’t even wait for the Republican in the White House to name a candidate to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy before asserting: “Regardless of what happens in his presidency now, Donald Trump will leave a mark on this country for decades to come.”
On CNN last night, another political discussion went off the rails as the liberal host pitted a conservative against a liberal on a hot button topic and only stepped in to stoke the flames. Ironically enough, the topic was civility, and if Rep. Maxine Waters’ controversial comments over the weekend, encouraging liberals to harass Republicans were justified. Angela Rye, CNN political commentator and former Congressional Black Caucus adviser, defended Waters, while former advisor for Trump’s Hispanic Advisory Council Steve Cortes attacked the remarks, on Erin Burnett Outfront, June 26.
On Tuesday's CNN Tonight during a segment in which liberals outnumbered conservatives 3-1, CNN political commentator Angela Rye trashed pro-Trump evangelicals who support cracking down on illegal immigration, calling them "heartless human beings" who are "sick." And for his part, host Don Lemon accidentally declared that illegals are facing increased "federal persecution" before catching himself and correcting it to "prosecution" -- although it was quite possibly a Freudian slip of his personal opinions on the subject.
On Tuesday's CNN Tonight, during a segment on the decision not to charge two Baton Rouge police officers who shot and killed Alton Sterling in 2016, liberal CNN commentator Angela Rye blew up and and got into a heated debate with conservative commentator Ben Ferguson. At one point, she accused him of being "out your damn mind," and eventually repeatedly told him, "You're sick," because he defended the officers.
On Monday's CNN Tonight, liberal CNN political commentator Angela Rye had a meltdown and began ranting after conservative CNN contributor Alice Stewart defended the NRA against attacks at the Oscars. After Stewart persisted in defending the pro-gun group, Rye shouted: "Like, stop! Just stop! Like, Alice, I like you as a person, but this is crazy! Stop! When host Don Lemon jumped in to respond, he claimed that the NRA only represents a small portion of the population and asserted that "they're holding the rest of us hostage."
CNN took a break Monday from covering the drop in the Dow to blast President Trump for his use of the word “treasonous” to describe Democrats at a rally in Cincinnati. Former NY GOP Gubernatorial candidateRob Astorino pointed out that the Democrats have an intense hatred for President Trump as evidenced by the refusal of many elected Democrats to attend his inauguration.
On Wednesday’s Daily Show, host Trevor Noah brought CNN commentator Angela Rye for a friendly interview that began with the late-night host gushing over how “amazing” the liberal pundit’s rude behavior on CNN was.
Hours after White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that former Apprentice contestant-turned-White House staffer, Omarosa Manigault Newman, had resigned, and would be leaving the White House this January, CNN's April Ryan reported that she was actually fired.
Near the end of Wednesday’s State of America on CNN International, the show published a head-scratching graphic that placed Republican Congressman Joe Barton (Tex.) alongside other political figures who, unlike Barton, have been accused of sexual misconduct. To make matters worse, CNN political commentator Angela Rye ripped into “white, liberal women” for supposedly forcing House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to call for Democratic Congressman John Conyers (Mich.) to resign.
As journalists rejoice over Republican defeats in New Jersey and Virginia, hyping them as a referendum on President Trump, we at the MRC dove into our archives to remind them that just 8 years ago they said the exact opposite when the exact same situation happened to President Obama. The comparison couldn’t get more apples-to-apples: in both 2009 and 2017, the governorships of Virginia and New Jersey were lost by the party that had just won the presidential election the year before.
On Monday's CNN Tonight, CNN political commentator Angela Rye was the latest liberal analyst to claim that President Donald Trump disproportionately targets black women for ridicule. And on Friday, CNN commentator John Avlon similarly suggested Trump was targeting black women. Even though, as previously noted by NewsBusters, there are many white men and white women who have also been attacked by the President according to a list compiled by the New York Times.
As the left mobilizes mobs to tear down confederate statues (and peace monuments) from city-to-city, it was only a matter of time before they would be going after our Founding Fathers. On CNN Thursday morning, liberal analyst Angela Rye argued that our nation’s first president was as detestable as Robert E. Lee because he was a slave owner. “To me, I don't care if it's a George Washington statue or Thomas Jefferson, they all need to come down,” she said before ranting about America’s “very violent past.”
