Almost 18 years after former Democratic President Bill Clinton left office, liberal actress and activist Alyssa Milano finally admitted on Thursday's Cuomo Prime Time that sexual assault charges against him should have been taken more seriously, although both she and CNN host Chris Cuomo avoided words like "rape" or "sexual assault" in referring to the accusations.
During the past three weeks, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has received a deluge of news coverage accusing him of vile crimes, including attempted rape and even organizing gang rapes. While these charges did not originate with the news media, the lack of satisfactory corroborating evidence should have caused ethical reporters to refrain from gratuitously repeating allegations that painted Kavanaugh in a monstrous light. But this is not what happened.
In a grade-A case of hypocrisy and double standards Thursday, it became clear it’s only the liberal media and Democrats who were allowed to rail against FBI investigations as illegitimate. After spending well over a year decrying President Trump’s attacks on the Special Counsel investigation, it was their turn to claim an FBI investigation was rigged. During World News Tonight, ABC became a mouthpiece for the left.
On Thursday night, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews was in a more jubilant mood than he might have been earlier in the week on the issue of stopping Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh thanks to the “profile in courage” from Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp (ND) in opposing Kavanaugh. With Heitkamp opposing the Judge, Matthews expressed optimism that there was a “road to hope” paved by other Senators from both sides of aisle who might “protect its constitutional role” in not “bowing to the executive.”
In a Kavanaugh debate already full of anguish and anger on the part of a liberal press which has already convicted Judge Brett Kavanaugh in their own minds, Adam Serwer of The Atlantic made a quantum leap into irresponsibility with “The Cruelty Is the Point -- President Trump and his supporters find community by rejoicing in the suffering of those they hate and fear,” posted Wednesday. One suspects a lack of rational discussion forthcoming when the column opens with a description of archive photographs of lynchings.
Over the past week, several CNN hosts have returned to repeating the discredited myth that Donald Trump once lobbied for a group of innocent underage teens to not only be convicted of a rape they may not have committed, but that he even pushed for them to be executed. On Wednesday's CNN Tonight, Don Lemon even devoted a segment to speaking with two of the now adult members of the Central Park Five as he sought to portray President Trump as hypocritical for defending U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh from sexual assault accusations.
WASHINGTON — If you have read enough pro-Kavanaugh articles, give this one a pass. You are not going to like it. Yet if you have not heard enough, you will probably like this one. I have nothing but congratulatory things to say about Judge Brett Kavanaugh. As with Justice Clarence Thomas, he is a fighter. He is a gifted defender of the truth. And he is worthy of serving on the highest court in the land. I would trust my case with him, and I would trust yours, too, whether you are with him now or against him. He believes in the rule of law.
After complaining that the FBI investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was not “thorough” enough to their liking, the hosts of ABC’s The View Thursday went on to bash President Trump, for the second day in a row, for his comments at a rally calling out Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford and her memory gaps on the alleged sexual assault encounter.
Thursday morning ABC’s Good Morning America played to Democrat concerns yet again over the FBI investigation into Brett Kavanaugh, which completed Wednesday. Correspondent Terry Moran gave a completely one-sided, anti-Kavanaugh report touting everyone who was against his confirmation complaining that the FBI investigation wasn’t conducted how they wanted.
The liberal media were up in arms Wednesday after President Trump mocked Judge Brett Kavanaugh accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford for having a poor memory at a rally in Mississippi the night before. But while they were perturbed by the act, ABC’s World News Tonight and CBS Evening News begrudgingly admitted that Ford couldn’t remember many of the details surrounding that night. Despite that difficult admission, they failed to go into detail regarding the blatant contradictions in her testimony.
For the first time since September 10, the White House held a press briefing Wednesday featuring not only Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, but also National Security Adviser John Bolton and neither disappointed as scores of liberal journalists came ready to rumble. Bolton set the tone in an exchange with CBS News White House correspondent Weijia Jiang, who seemed insulted that Bolton wasn’t giving more respect to the Palestinians by not referring to their land as a state. Turns out, Bolton had the facts on his side.
On her show Wednesday morning, NBC anchor Megyn Kelly literally treated a New York Times story detailing a 1983 letter written by Brett Kavanaugh like a piece of garbage, crumpling up a copy of the letter and throwing it away. Even as all three broadcast networks, including her own, hyped the story, Kelly told viewers how “ridiculous” it was.
